Columbia, or the Republic of Columbia (RoC) is a fictional nation created by General_Dave_1 and has been used in multiple different forms for Nation-Based role-playing and in a book named SURGE. Information therefore is inconsistent in regards to exactly what the nation is, though it has been described as "America-Lite" or "Super-America" depending on the context.

The only major consistent fact of Columbia is that it is a Native-American and Anglophone nation, mixing the two peoples and cultures together in a somewhat unique but mostly unoriginal way.

=== SURGE ===

In the book SURGE, Columbia is used as one of the primary super-powers on the planet of Tarsus, with its main rival being the Soviet Socialist Republic of Saratov (SSRS). The history between Columbia and the SSRS goes back to the first SURGE (the term for war in the book) as Communist Forces took control of Saratov in a bloody civil war and attempted to storm the Yuktasian continent. Columbia saw the threat and intervened to stop them, which became inconclusive and only led to a much larger and more destructive war twenty years later in the 1940's. Columbia used its full industrial capability and superior navy to beat down and trap the Saratovian Fleets, and sink a significant amount of submarines. On June 8th, 1946, Columbia dropped the first Atomic bomb on Tazovsky, an Island with a major city with 112,000 residents. The city was bombed because of a major Saratovian Naval Base and surface fleet was in port that day, including the elusive Battlecruisers Kronstadt & Novorossiysk. In the wake of this, an official peace treaty was signed between the superpowers. In 1948 Columbia founded the Organization of Free Nations, which included most of the Western Yuktasian Nations that were directly threatened by the Saratovians.

The book begins in 1988, and will be a primarily naval focused story due to the nature of the planet of Tarsus.
