There is no clear history of Eplos before 1 AEF. It is heavily implied the state of Eplos is a product of European colonialism.

==== 1 AEF ====
Eplos adopted its January 2025 constitution on 24 January, 2025, creating the Republic of Eplos as a semi-presidential state. It had a unicameral legislature, the Eplosian Parliament, possessing 150 seats elected via a party's political representation, rather than an electoral-district based system like most democracies. In elections, it uses the D'Hondt system. The executive branch resembled most other semi-presidential republics (although the Prime Minister controlled the cabinet).

These elections saw a near-majority for the Working Alliance, leading to a coalition with the controversial Social Progressive Party. Despite the Working Alliance's support and size, the leader of the SPP, Ruarí O'Brien, was elected president. Various governmental reforms were spearheaded by the Movement for the Advancement of Eplos and the Working Alliance up until the 9th.

On 9 February, 2025, President [[Ruairí O'Brien]] attempted a self-coup, dissolving the government, after Parliament opted to a vote of no confidence over a series of controversial executive orders and a proposed amendment to the Right to Privacy Act. After military was blocked from entering the city of Achvell by protesters, O'Brien fled the city on helicopter. Their status was unknown for several hours, until the helicopter was found crashed in the Eplosian forests. O'Brien was officially declared dead, alongside the rest of their family. It is unknown whether the helicopter was shot down or crashed accidentally.

After the foundation of a [[Working Alliance]]-led provisional government, led by a provisional People's Assembly, the NATO Response Force was authorized to enter the country as part of a stabilization mission<ref>https://discord.com/channels/1332066832101670953/1338688772606398464</ref>, which was met with controversy among Eplos's political left. Following the entrance of NATO troops an [[2025 Eplosian general strike|abrupt general strike]] was called by the the [[Alliance of Trade Unions]]. Troops participated in a standoff with Eplosian citizens until they were called back due to poor public reaction.

Eplos's current flag was adopted by a vote in the People's Assembly on 13 February, 2025. A string of terrorist attacks occurred throughout the country, such as the bombing of multiple party headquarters, organizes by the Society of the Great Crystal Clark, an esoteric cult of personality based around deceased politician [[Crystal Clark]].

On 20 February, 2025, after controversy around Environmental Alliance politician [[Natasha Hanson-Young]] led to her removal from the party, along with the death of UNITE leader [[Ian Fleming II|Ian Fleming]], led to a sudden floundering of EDGA support before the election, general elections led to the first non-coalition government in Eplosian history, lead by a resurgent Working Alliance.

Eplos was created on 23 January, 2025, by [[STCSTW]], [[Reggie]], and me when the as an online political simulation. The [https://discord.gg/rx8DBu6k Eplosian Discord] was created a day later. A calendar for the in-simulation progression of time, known as AEF, was created for the sake of pacing the game, with the day of Eplos' creation being marked as 1 AEF. One AEF is equivalent to one real-time month.

Fleming attended Achvell City University between 1990 and 1994 to achieve a Bachelor's Degree. After university Fleming worked in the business industry in various companies. In 1997, Fleming participated in that years general strike. Fleming was appointed Second Deputy Chair of the [[Business Trade Congress]] by Thomas Jackson. Fleming gained national notoriety after negotiating a national raise for business workers and the failed implementation of cooperative laws. Fleming's first wife was Charlotte Davies. Davies first met Fleming in secondary school and began dating shortly afterwards having an on and off relationship. Shortly before graduating university Fleming and Davies got married. During their marriage in 1994, Davies gave birth to Fleming's first child Ian Fleming III who became a trade unionist. Their marriage ended in 1996 when Fleming filed for divorce after Davies admitted to having an affair with an unnamed man.

Fleming began dating his second wife, Emily Wozniak, in the last few days of his marriage to Davies. Initially swearing to never remarry, Fleming decided to propose to Wozniak in 1998. After marrying in 1999, Fleming and Wozniak had 4 children, Michael (formerly Michelle) Fleming, Isabelle Fleming, Thomas Fleming, and Fred Fleming. In 2004, Wozniak was diagnosed with stage 3 leukaemia and passed away in early 2005. Fleming would later describe Wozniak as one of the two loves of his life with the other being James Rosen.

Fleming's third wife was Camilla Jenkins. Fleming met Jenkins through a blind date set up by a friend in 2008. Jenkins and Fleming married less than a year later. Jenkins and Fleming had one child together in 2012 named Joseph. Jenkins and Fleming divorced in 2013 citing Jenkins coming out as a lesbian. Both of them have remained good friends after the divorce with Jenkins conducting the marriage of his husband.
