2164: The Inner Council (alternatively TIC for short) is a collaborative alt-history and hard science fiction setting hosted by Artienia since February 22, 2018. It has 2 main point of divergences, First being the habitability of Mars and Venus, and the continuation of World War II into 1953. The setting, stretching from the late 1800s to 2164, explores Humanity's place and importance in the cosmos, its squabbles and struggles. The name of the setting comes from the in-universe alliance of The Inner Council.
TIC mainly takes part in the eponymous inner solar system, but has relevance in the Gallilean and Cronian moons as well. The setting strives to maintain scientific accuracy and realism and thus does not feature tropes such as Faster-than-Light travel or magic.
The setting features several canonically fictional in-universe stories, including 21164 and 1992, exploring radically different themes from the main setting.
The Inner Council as an idea was first created on February 22, 2018 as the planetary symbols of Venus, Earth and Mars combined into an aesthetic design (see infobox). Since then the timeline has been receiving gradual expansions, rewrites and fan content.
