Franklin Jaakko Albertini (born March 11, 1956) is an Astorian politician who served as the 13th President of Astoria from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Progressive–Labor Party, he was the first Astorian of Italian descent to hold the office of president. Albertini previously served as the governor of Tahoma from 2007 to 2011, as a member of the House of Representatives from 1997 to 2007, and prior to entering politics he worked as an licensed mariner.
Albertini was born in Seattle, Tahoma. He graduated from Merchant Marine Academy of Astoria in 1978 with a B.S. in marine engineering. After graduation, Albertini joined the Astorian Merchant Marine where he became a fourth engineer on the AS O'Connor. In 1990 he was honorably discharged from the Merchant Marine, entering into the private industry working as a sea captain on a cargo ship. In 1991 he won a local election for the Seattle City Council. In 1996 he was elected to serve in the House of Representatives to represent the 6th district of Tahoma, serving until his election as governor of Tahoma in 2006. In 2010 he was nominated by the Progressive–Labor Party for president and chose Samantha Häkkinen as his running mate. Albertini defeated National Democratic nominee Dennis Williams in the 2010 presidential election.
Albertini reestablished banking regulations and combatted improper foreclosures initiated by large banks on homeowners. In 2011 he signed the Marriage Freedom and Equality Act, legalizing same-sex marriage and established federal documentation for same-sex couples that allowed citizens to circumnavigate state marriage certificates. He utilized the Consumption Act of Astoria in an attempt to prohibit the sale of tobacco products, which was overturned in 2012. In the 2012 midterm elections his party lost their slim majority in the House and Senate. In the 2014 presidential election, Albertini won reelection against National Democratic nominee Ryan Remsu. His party regained control of the House in 2014 and the Senate in the 2016 midterm elections.
Albertini was targeted by Brendan Shepard and the emerging socially conservative faction of the National Democratic Party during the 2018 presidential election for his connections with the International Brotherhood of Longshoremen, Astorian Mafia and Kazan-gumi. Albertini exited public life and retired early in 2019.

Albertini visited Porciúncula in 2012, arriving on May 3 and departed on May 7. Albertini traveled by air and was received by Prime Minister Steven Hong at the Porciúncula International Airport, and was honored with 21-gun salute followed by a military parade. A formal dinner was held at the Occidental Palace with the prime minister, Charles II and president in attendance. Albertini was invited to speak before Parliament, where he spoke in support in favor of labor unions and other progressive policies in Astoria and Sierra. During his speech a Royalist commoner heckled Albertini exclaiming "A mobbed up guido lectures us, you're a joke!". Albertini threw the chamber's hourglass gavel at them, striking the commoner in the head. Royalist members lunged after Albertini causing the Parliament to erupted into a brawl that had to be ended by the Parliament Police and Albertini's Republican Guard. Albertini exited the parliament building and immediately departed for Astoria. Relations between the two countries were strained significantly by the event.
