The Lumera Chronicles is a high fantasy independent project created by Andy Irons. Taking inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire, the project is centered around the Kingdom of Lumera, a continent-spanning kingdom consisting of twelve realms, who are ruled by great houses subservient to a king.

The project is set in the year of 512 AU (after unification), and will expand upon the thousands of years of history and culture each realm has to offer, while simultaneously expanding on living characters, each of whom have their own thoughts and opinions about the state of the realm. Due to its recent status, things in the project are subject to change.

The world of Lumera itself is a semi-magical world, in that magic exists though takes more of a backseat as the project focuses on the politics, histories, and culture of the world.

Rules

As of October 3, 2024, the Lumera Chronicles has transitioned from being a single-member project to a semi-collaborative project with elements of role-play. Prospective writers in this project are encouraged to create pages for a character, house, keep/castle, or event that aligns with the established history of Lumera, which can be found here.

As the royal house and the twelve great houses are already established, any new house created by prospective writers will be considered a 'vassal house', or one of the many houses under the fealty of a lord protector (or in the case of the Capital, under the king himself). This does not mean your house has to be weak, or unimportant. Many of the wars won, successful schemes, and diplomatic victories were made with the assistance of vassal houses. In some cases, vassal houses can be considered more powerful than their liege lords. Along with that, while magic does exist in this world, it is not prominent. In universe, magic is outlawed in Lumera and considered heretical and a taboo, only being practiced by those of the Outer Realms or the savage clans of the wilderness.

There a few general rules that are expected to be followed. As the creator and head of this project, I (Andy Irons) reserve the right to alter or remove any content that that insufficiently represents the world and project as a whole. I pledge, however, not to be overbearing or controlling nor an outright tyrant. Offensive or controversial content will be removed, and this project will not tolerate any form of hate or discrimination. Along with that, contributors are expected to uphold the principles of collaborative conworlding, which include a cordial sharing of ideas and constructive criticism.

As much of the lore surrounding Lumera has yet to be published, potential contributors may be confused or not know many things relating to the lore of the world. Feel free to ask me questions regarding anything about Lumera either here on the wiki or Discord. Hopefully soon, many unanswered questions can be answered soon with new pages, but for now I am more than willing to answer any of your questions!

Guides

Here I will be sharing guides on how to write pages for the Lumera Chronicles. For the time being, prospective contributors are encouraged to use Darion II Caedmon as a template for character pages and House Caedmon as a template for house pages. Inboxes can be added on request if needed.
