In [[Commonwealth of Sainte Genevieve|Sainte Genevieve]] elections, '''Ferrig''' is one of the country's sixteen Parliamentary constituencies.  The constituency was one of the fourteen constituencies created when Sainte Genevieve gained independence in 1949.  From 1949 to 1958, Ferrig returned four MPs.  This was reduced to three beginning with the [[Sainte Genevieve General Election, 1958|1958 General Election]], and has remained so ever since.

Ferrig is the country's least populous county, and by far the most rural in character.  For the first four decades, the [[Conservative Party of Sainte Genevieve|Conservative Party]] dominated local politics.  Since the early 1990s however, residents have embraced more left-of-centre candidates, particularly members of the [[Progressive Party of Sainte Genevieve|Progressive Party]].
