The 1888 presidential election of Rio Blanco took place on 1 August 1888, to elect the president of Rio Blanco.

In this election, the same methods as in 1876, 1880 and 1884 were used:

  • In the first round, a council of 50 men (the Major Councillors) voted;
  • In the second round, 60,000 people voted.

The election saw Progressive Party candidate Gregory Pence becoming President of Rio Blanco. This election is also the first to have Prohibition Party reach the 100-vote threshold.
