History
The brigade has its origin in a Tank Battalion that was created in 1943 in North Norway, with some tanks provided by the British Army to the Norwegian Resistence Army. Once Skandinavia was created it became the first Armoured Regiment in the nation. Later, in 1987 it was upgraded to a brigade.
After the military reform of 2003, the brigade was attached to the 2. Panserdivisjon and headquartered in Lillehammer.
