- COVID-19 pandemic in Chile
- More than 3,000 deaths from COVID-19 are reported in Chile, but an investigation by the Ministry of Health told the World Health Organization (WHO) that the actual death toll is around 5,000 people.
- Enrique Paris is appointed the new Minister of Health.
Law and crime
- A court in China sentences an Australian man to death on charges of drug trafficing. The man was arrested in 2013 at Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou and had been held in custody for seven years. The Australian government has condemned the sentence.
