The State of Ouray (/ˈjʊəreɪ/) is one of the 11 first-order subdivisions of Rio Blanco. It is one of the original four states which were created in 1876.

It has a population of 113,322, making it the third-least populated state of Rio Blanco, behind Sawatch and Sioux.

Ouray is divided in 8 counties.

Notes

  1. Also hosts the now-dissolved San Juan County, with seat in Silverton, merged with La Plata County following the reform of the County Act of 1876, passed on May 2016.
  2. Formed with the fusion of the counties of Hinsdale and Mineral. The two counties agreed to merger through a popular vote.
