The 2025 Ilger presidential election will be held on the 7th April 2025 to elect the 4th President of Ilgerland to a four year term.[Note 1] Incumbent President Wailiem Köneg, who was elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2021, is age-limited and cannot seek a second term. The election will be a direct election occurring over 2 rounds via instant-runoff voting.

  • 14 February - Deadline for achieving 50,000 signatures
  • 7 April - Election Day. Polls open for voting at 5 am and close at 11 pm.
  • 8 April - Counting begins
  • 10 April - Deadline for counting votes.
  • 3 June - Inauguration of elected President

Candidates

Requirements

In 2022, the Electoral Commission published the requirements for standing for president:

  1. Candidates must be under 85 years old.
  2. Candidates must have a ISEQ level qualification or higher.
  3. Candidates must be at least 25 years old
  4. Candidates cannot be currently serving a criminal conviction
  5. Candidates must achieve 50,000 signatures to stand unless their party has at least 10 seats in the House and 5 in the Senate.
  6. Candidates must have lived in Ilgerland for 15 years or longer.
  7. Any candidate who served in the Politburo is ineligible for election.
  8. Candidates must not be a member of the Police, Secret Service, or Special Military Forces.
