Georgeland Ambassador to Greece
The Georgeland Ambassador to Greece is the official diplomatic representative of the United Islands of Georgeland to the Hellenic Republic. The position has existed since 1970; prior to this the two countries had no formal diplomatic ties. The opening of ties was controversial as it took place during Greece's military dictatorship, and there were protests by Greek Georgelanders against the opening of the embassy.
Georgeland's first woman to hold ambassadorial rank, Nancy Cunningham, was Ambassador to Greece from 1978 to 1981, having previously been High Commissioner to Canada.
The current ambassador is Karl Jolliffe, who presented his credentials to the President of Greece, Prokopios Pavlopoulos, on 18 November 2018.
