Hungary (Hungarian: Magyarország), formally known as the Republic of Hungary (Hungarian: Magyar Köztársaság), is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin and is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Russia and Romania to the east, Illyria to the south and Germany to the west. The country's capital, as well as its largest city, is Budapest.
