The Royal Olympic Committee of Superior, commonly referred to as the Superian Royal Olympic Committee or just the Royal Olympic Committee is the National Olympic Commitee for the Kingdom of Superior. The ROCS is located in Augustus, Dakota. The committee's paralympics counterpart is the Royal Paralympics Committee of Superior. The ROCS is responsible for supporting, entering, and overseeing Superian teams for the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Pan-American Games, and serves as the steward of Olympic and Paralympic movements in Superior. Superior is currently competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics and is expected to compete at both the 2022 Winter Olympics and the 2024 Summer Olympics as well.

History

The Royal Olympic Committee was founded on January 8, 1900 as the result of a major effort by Adolf A. Hoffman who sought to create an olympic committee for Superior to participate in the Olympic Games. Believing that the games were a positive force for bringing the nations of the world together and seeking to ensure that Superior remained an active participant and relevant role in the world, Hoffman lead the effort to get Superior to participate in the 1900 Summer Olympics in London, a campaign that recieved widespread support and was achieved during the 1890s. The committee itself was formally established on January 8 and would be formalized in the form of the National Olympic Participation Act which declared that Superior would participate in olympic tournaments and permit the usage of state and federal funds to support it.
