The South Pacific-Atlantic Treaty Organization (SPATO; Afrikaans: Suid-Stille Oseaan-Atlantiese Verdragsorganisasie, SSOAV , French: Organisation du Traité Pacifique Sud-Atlantique, OTPSA) also called the Antarctic Alliance or Austral Alliance is an intergovernmental military alliance between 16 South American, African, European. Asian and Oceanic countries. The organization implements the South Atlantic Treaty that was signed on 5 December 1956, and the South Pacific Treaty signed on 8 January 1959.
