The State of Hispaniola (French: État d'Hispaniola Spanish: Estado de La Española, Haitian Creole: Leta Ispanyola), simply referred to as Hispaniola, is a state of the United States that is located in the Caribbean. Hispaniola is bordered by the Caribbean Sea overall, Cuba and the Gulf of Mexico to the west, Puerto Rico to the east. With a population of over 41 million as of 2020, Hispaniola has the largest population of any provisional commonwealth and holds the bulk of the Antilles' population overall while also hosting its capital, Santo Domingo

In the modern era, Hispaniola is a highly developed territory and has the 19th largest economy in the world, if treated as a separate country, and the largest economy of any state in the Antilles as a whole. Much of its economy comes from a thriving tourism industry, hospitality, transportation, and agriculture. Hispaniola is renowned for its beachside resorts, amusement parks, and warm and sunny climate, which has made it an attractive tourist destination. Demographically, Hispaniola is very diverse and complex, with its population being a mixture of White Columbians (Anglos, Scot-i Irish,rsh, Italians, Germans, and Poles) and Afro-Columbians, along with Haitians and various Native Antillean groups that all reside within the island territory. Hispaniola is also a mixture of suburban towns and major urban centers, as seen in Santo Domingo, Grantsville, Port-au-Prince, Montgomery and many others.
