Thegasia technology
Thegasia technology refers to wormhole generation technology derived from the Gateway to Thegasia artifact located in the outer Ingffhaestian System and constructed by the ancient Izlondian civilization. As mentioned before, the primary function of Thegasia technology is the generation of wormholes, allowing for instantaneous travel between two points in space. Thegasia technology is credited with singlehandedly allowing Uingffhian civilization to achieve faster-than-light travel near the beginning of the 19th Century, become an interstellar superpower, and dominate the local interstellar stage politically, socially, and economically for the next few centuries.
Etymology
The original Izlondian artifact was named the "Gateway to Thegasia" - colloquially referred to as simply the Thegasia gate - in reference to a mythical heavenly city known as Thegasia present in certain Keliostic mythos. The city of Thegasia was said to a special part of Naitahlawulak (Keliosity's equivalent of heaven which was said to exist within the rings of Uingffh's parent planet Coppelius) reserved for honorable and mighty warriors. Thus, Kerolon chose to name the wormhole gate Thegasia as a way to honor the scientists and explorers responsible for discovering the artifact and deciphering its mechanics. The name was then reused to refer to most wormhole-related technology derived from the Thegasia gate's mechanisms.
