The Federal Service for the Protection of the Constitution of the Russian Democratic Republic (Russian: Федеральная служба по охране конституции Российской Демократической Республики (ФСОК), FSOK) is the main domestic security agency of Russia. The purpose of the agency is to defend Russia's democratic political order, and its role includes counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, internal security, and surveillance as well as combating other serious crimes such as organized crime and drug trafficking. Its headquarters is in the former Kresty Prison, Saint Petersburg. The director of the Federal Service for the Protection of the Constitution is appointed by the Prime Minister of Russia. Under Russian constitutional law, it answers to the Prime Minister and is overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Together with the Foreign Intelligence Service and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian Self-Defense Forces, the Federal Service for the Protection of the Constitution is one of the three intelligence agencies of Russia. Along with the Federal Police Agency, it is one of the two primary law enforcement agencies. The FSOK was established in 1962 and its status was covered under Article 24 On the government of the Russian state. The agency is estimated to currently employ around 50,000 employees, including about 4,000 special forces troops.

The Federal Service for the Protection of the Constitution is overseen by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as by the State Duma and Federal Council of Russia, the legislature.
