James "Jim" Kanno (/mɑrˈkeɪzɪ/; born December 22, 1925) was a Sierran politician and philanthropist who served as the first mayor of Ringo City, Mohave, becoming one of the first Asian-Sierrans to hold a seat in public office.

Kanno died from the result of a fall on July 15, 2017 in his Mohave residence.
Legacy
Julia Mendel of the Saint Anne Sun described Kanno as "one of the most persistent figures in the history of the Province of Mohave... and as a man who helped overthrow the boundaries of cultural divide within Sierra". Mendel speculates his incumbency as a commoner may have played a role in sparking the Sierran Cultural Revolution.
