Español: Es una rosca de pan muy estilada en México cerca de época navideña, se come en 6 de enero, preparada con harina de trigo, azúcar, manteca vegetal (o aceite y mantequilla), ralladura de limón y naranja, leche de vaca, huevo, azúcar, y levadura entre otros ingredientes según la región. Se barniza también con huevo y leche para favorecer el dorado de la costra de pan.
Se adorna con una pasta de harina, manteca, mantequilla, azúcar y algunos saborizantes naturales como vainilla, chocolate, canela, etc. además de Ate de Morelia (puré de membrillo u otros frutos, canela , azúcar, agua todo preparado en un cazo de cobre, lo cual evita la oxidación de los frutos que se usen), también se usan nuez pecana, cerezas, higos en conserva, entre otros ingredientes. Dentro se colocan algunas figurillas que representan al niño Jesús, a quien le toque la suerte de obtener uno en su rebanada tradicionalmente prepara "tamales (masa de maíz nixtamalizado o harina de maíz, cocinada al vapor envuelta en hojas de maíz o plátano, con leudante, sal, manteca animal o vegetal, y distintos rellenos que van desde los picantes y salados, hasta los dulces)" en el mes de febrero para todos los asistentes que estuvieron presentes para degustar la rosca. La rosca está cargada de simbolismo, pero es muy variable y vago, desde que representa la búsqueda de Jesús por parte de los "Reyes Magos" Melchor, Gaspar y Baltazar, hasta el amor divino sin fin por eso la forma toroidal que no tiene principio ni fin, los frutos representan las joyas de una corona o pueden ser los obstáculos sorteados para alcanzar a el niño Jesús, también se dice que las figuras de los niños ocultas en el pan, simbolizan cuando los padres de Jesús lo ocultaron del Rey Herodes.English: It is a very styled bread in Mexico around Christmas time, it is eaten on January 6, prepared with wheat flour, sugar, vegetable shortening (or oil and butter), lemon and orange zest, cow's milk, egg, sugar, and yeast among other ingredients depending on the region.
