- Severe Cyclone Storm Nisarga makes landfall south of Mumbai, India, which is the first tropical storm to strike the megacity since 1891. Around 100,000 people have already been evacuated from the western Indian states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, an area that has been hit hard by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
