Stirk is an island in the Abecean Sea, west of the Gold Coast region of Cyrodiil. The island is home to one major port, also called Stirk, as well as Ayleid ruins.
History
Stirk was first colonized by the Ayleids, who built the port of Wormusoel on the island, and constructed sea-fortresses off the coast. The Ayleids of Stirk weathered the Alessian rebellions for a time, but were ultimately vanquished by Skalgar Hellebor in 1E 343.
Stirk was besieged by the migratory Redguards in 1E 808, but the attackers were repelled after intervention from the mainland.
The Thrassian Plague of the 2200s ravaged Stirk, killing a majority of the island's population. The All Flags Navy assembled here in preparation for the campaign against Thras.
By the late First Era, the inhabitants of Stirk were known to honor Kynareth, goddess of the fair trade winds.
During the Tiber Wars, Stirk was attacked by the Redguards and briefly occupied by the Altmer, before ultimately becoming part of the Third Empire.
Stirk was one of the first territories seized by the Third Aldmeri Dominion at the onset of the Great War. Lady Arannelya oversaw the occupation, using the island as a launching point for her campaigns in Hammerfell and the Gold Coast. After the war's end, Stirk was restored to the Empire by treaty, but the Thalmor still maintain a presence on the island.
The Imperial galley Warhaft wrecked off the coast of Stirk in 4E 139. The vessel was named after Third-Era general Talin Warhaft.
