Candon ( listen) is a city in Aurithasia.
History
In ancient times, a stone city existed in the area, carved into the mountainside by the prehistoric Cheldu civilization. Remnants of the ancient city can still be found today. A Solcian colony was built over the site by emperor Alcesimarchus. The Solcian city was sacked in the 5th century by Saphonian warlord Arinvirnias. After the fall of Solcia, Candon was the capital of the Duchy (later Kingdom) of Aurithasia, and was the place where several kings of the Battani were crowned, including Marcoman.
In the Late Middle Ages, it came under the occupation of the knights of Holmark.
