The Liberal Democratic Party is a conservative political party in Tuva. It is one of the largest political parties in Tuva, alongside with its rival, the People's Party. It is the current governing party within the Great Khural. The current party leader is Igor Zhang, who was held the position since November 28, 2017.
The party was founded on March 14, 1965 after the conservative members of the People's Party left to form their own party due to their ideological differences and the dominance of the liberal members of the party. Few independent politicians in the local government and national legislature are also joined the party. The first victory of the Liberal Democrats is in 1965 elections when Shamir Mendume won as the President of Tuva and the party also gained half of the seats in the Great Khural, ended the domination of the People's Party in Tuvan politics.
