Jeoffrey Shakur Bennett (born December 5, 1988), known professionally as Splash Godd, is a Sierran rapper and label executive. Born and raised in Plainsfield, San Joaquin, Bennett began his music career in 2011, releasing a number of his early mixtapes and singles on burnt CDs, and founding the record label La Familia Records in 2015 after serving three years for possession of an illegal firearm. After dropping a myriad of mixtapes such as his Ghost of the Plains series as well as his Satan Wears Saint Laurent trilogy online, Bennett would sign a deal with Imperial Worldwide Records in October 2018. His second and most successful album to date, Booligan's Garden, was released on May 29, 2020.

As a label executive, Bennett signed Gloxk G, producer BreeZee, and Krash in 2015; King Keem and producer Brxly in 2016; Blaxkface Killer in 2018; Blaxk Billy in 2019 to his La Familia Records label.

Career

2011–15: Career beginnings and first mixtapes

Bennett released his first mixtape, Old News, in 2011 on burnt CD's he would sell at bus stations. Bennett would state that much of the mixtape was his "version" of Lil Wayne's The Dedication due to Old News primarily featuring remixes over other hip-hop songs. The tracks wouldn't gain Bennett any significant traffic, though he would continue releasing mixtapes and selling them on the street. After meeting producer BreeZee, Bennett would release two solo mixtapes entirely produced by BreeZee in 2012: Ghost of the Plains Vol 1, Ghost of the Plains Vol 2, along with the collaborative mixtape Dream Team Vol I with his younger brother Gloxk G. At the time, Bennett, along with Gloxk G, BreeZee, and BreeZee's cousin Krash had formed the rap group Hazardous Blaxk Youth (or HBY), though after being imprisoned on an illegal firearm charge, the group would dissolve though the members continued to collaborate.

During Bennett's early career, he would often perform at local clubs or participate in local battle rap competitions in the Bernheim–Oakalona–Plainsfield metro area, namely the Shelter.

2015–18: First Brixks, La Familia Records and IW deal

After being released from prison in 2015, Bennett would move from burning CDs to uploading music online, with his mixtape Baxk in Blood being released on Youtube in June 2015. Bennett would found La Familia Records in August of that same year, signing Gloxk G, Krash, and as well as BreeZee as an in-house producer. In 2016, Bennett released his first commercial album, First Brixks. The album featured guest appearances from 17 Cliipper the Red God, 600Gz, Gloxk G, King Keem, and Krash.
