      • COVID-19 pandemic in France
        • France registers 52,010 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Health Ministry, raising the national total up to 1,138,507 confirmed cases.
      • COVID-19 pandemic in Italy
        • Italy registers 21,273 new cases in the last 24 hours, the first time that new daily cases have surpassed 20,000 since the start of the pandemic.
        • In agreement with regional authorities, the Italian central government orders the closure of all pools, cinemas, and gyms tomorrow until further notice in order to curb the rapid spread of COVID-19. Bars and restaurants are to close at 6:00 pm local time. The new rules last until November 24.
        • Over 2,000 people in the city of Naples gather in the evening to protest the new measures by the government.

        • Hungary reports a record 3,149 new cases in the last 24 hours, raising the nationwide cumulative total up to 59,247.

        • Spanish Prime Minister Gabriel Perez declares a second nationwide "state of alarm" (known as a state of emergency) to allow regional authorities to set different hours for curfews as long as they are stricter, close travel between regions, and limit public gatherings to only six people from different households. The nationwide curfew begins at 11:00 pm and ends at 6:00 am local time, except for the Canary Islands. The emergency decree can also be extended by another 15 days to six months depending on parliamentary approval.
    • COVID-19 pandemic in Australia
      • Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announces the easing of restrictions on gyms, indoor swimming pools, religious gatherings, and other facilities in Regional Victoria starting on October 27 at 11:59 pm AEDT. He delays an announcement about easing restrictions in Melbourne however due to pending results from testing connecting to an outbreak in the northern suburbs.
      • Tasmania announces that it is reopening travel to much of Mainland Australia which was deemed as a low-risk state along with New Zealand effective tomorrow. The state was the first jurisdiction in Australia to close its borders in March and hasn't recorded any new cases in 70 days.
