Strategic Defense Force
The Strategic Defense Force is one of the main units of the Europan Armed Forces, along with the Army, navy and air force.
History
The SDF was founded in 1962 as the military department for overseeing the usage of missiles, bombs and atomic/nuclear weapons. Since then, the concept of remote warfare has become very important in Europa. With less manpower used for fighting, there were many more available to work on creating high-yield weapons. 1974 saw the creation of the first Radium Bomb. In Operation Thunder and Glory, the SDF deployed a fully armed R70 Missile against a simulated village on the coast of antarctica. In 1978 Europa made its first ASAT Missiles, one of which was targeted at an old telecom satellite. In recent years, the SDF has employed thermobaric weapons (T10 Missile) and WARSATs to replace its radium arsenals. The SDF has also developed several high-energy radio frequency weapons, which have been tested to much success.
