Ferre is a superhabitable world and one of seven moons of the gas giant Tarjei (the third planet of the Tilaga System). It is the homeworld of the Feran species, an intelligent alien civilization significantly more advanced than humanity in the early 21st Century, albeit less advanced than the superpowers of Uingffh. At Feran society’s peak, roughly 6.3 billion Ferans lived on the moon’s surface under the worldwide Feran Federation. Ferre is one of two habitable bodies in the Tilaga System; the other is Tristania, which also orbits Tarjei and bears native life.

Ferre itself is much less Earth-like than the nearby Tristania, yet is considered superhabitable. It has a much lower mass and size than Earth, but larger than those of Mars; similarly, Ferre's surface resembles a fusion between Earth and Mars. Ferre has continuous landmasses containing massive Martian-like deserts, with its seas being smaller and shallower than Earth's. Additionally, tidal interactions with Tristania and Tarjei fuel rigorous tectonic activity, resulting in rather jagged geography. Said tectonic activity also manifests in both Earthlike and Mars-like ways; while Earthlike plate interactions occur particularly in lower-lying areas near seas, massive shield volcanoes comparable to the Tharsis Montes on Mars also exist scattered across the moon, especially in the interior deserts. Despite the world's scant similarities to Earth compared to other habitable worlds encountered by Uingffh, Ferre's environment actually fosters higher levels of biodiversity than Earth, leading to its superhabitable classification.

Ferre and its parent planet Tarjei exist in the Tilaga System, which revolves around a red dwarf unlike the Solar System. Tilaga, like many other red dwarfs, experiences significantly higher levels of stellar activity (e.g. solar flares, coronal mass ejections, etc.) than the Sun. However, the magnetic fields of both Tarjei and Ferre itself protect Ferre from the most lethal radiation; nonetheless, most of Ferre’s native flora have evolved a bright violet coating to protect against other harmful stellar effects as well as the radiation emitted by Tarjei itself.
