Allocations are on a strict first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants. There are territorial restrictions, as the .iv domain is intended for businesses and individuals connected to Ivalice, however this is a fairly relaxed restriction, and is rarely enforced. .co.iv is by far the most used of the domains, followed by .org.iv. The intended restriction of .co.iv to companies is purely nominal; in practice it is open to any and all applicants. .org.iv is targeted to organizations, however, there are no restrictions on registering domains.
