The Albion Corporation, or more commonly referred to as Albion is a Sierran private military, aerospace, and technology corporation with interests worldwide. Albion was founded in 1923 by Andrew Albion as Albion Weapons Company. The company would shift towards defense contracting during the period following the Great War. It is headquartered in Riverside, Inland Empire, with additional offices in Porciúncula and San Francisco City, and employs a total of 114,000 employees worldwide as of 2020.
Albion is one of the largest aerospace, military, and technology corporations in the world. Since 2014, Albion is the world's largest private military and defense contractor by revenue, with 79% of its sales being military related. It currently tops the list of Sierran government contractors, holding the title since the early 1980s. Half of the corporation's sales are made to the Sierran Ministry of Defense and is also a contractor to the Royal Aeronautics and Aerospace Administration. In 2019, Sierran government contracts accounted for $35.6 billion (85%), foreign government contracts for $4.8 billion (13%), and commercial and other contracts $900 million (2%).
Albion operates in three business segments: Aerospace and Exploration, Advanced Technologies, and Defense. The company has received a total of six Collier Trophies and is known for the development of the TBD in 1989, TBD in 2001, and most recently the Advanced Auto Collusion Detection System in 2019. Albion is currently developing the TBD and currently leads the global team for the development and implementation of a worldwide defense network. Outside of the defense and aerospace industries, Albion has invested in a number of other fields, including healthcare, renewable and natural energy, and compact nuclear fusion. Since its shift towards defense contracting, Albion has been embroiled in a number of controversies, largely relating to its actions of Albion-affiliated groups in active warzones and for financially supporting controversial governments and groups.
History
The Albion Corporation was first founded as the Albion Weapons Company in 1923, by Anglo-Sierran businessman and future millionaire Andrew Albion in Providencia, a suburban city of Porciúncula. At the time, the primary product of Albion was firearms, with the company specializing in handguns and revovlers. Albion's firearms quickly became popular among Hollywood studios, who used Albion firearms in a number of movies in the 1920s and promoted them though film advertisements.
