Federal District Route 100 (FD 100), or Altamont Highway, is a state highway in Prince George's County, Federal District. At its northern end, FD 100 starts from the end of NR 404's single route right of way, just after the off-ramps to merge NR 404 with NR 2, directly routing traffic from the southbound Beltway to the Altamont Highway. The highway is accessed from Exit 1E of NR 404 southbound (outer loop), and exit 50B of NR 2/NR 404 northbound (inner loop). The LBS Koiwai system provides local bus transportation for various stops along the highway, and the RTS Koiwai Orange Line travels in the highway median, making two stops, Calverton (at Calverton Park Road) and Landover (at Landover Road).

Route Description

Federal District Route 100 begins in Clover Hill, Federal District at the main entrance to Naval Station Clover Hill along the six-lane, limited-access divided freeway Altamont Highway. The route then heads west out of the town into woodland, with off-ramps to various military installations in the area, such as Altamont Naval Air Station, and Fort Woodacre. After a cloverleaf interchange providing access to the National Harbor seaport area, the route turns northwest, through a wooded area, serving residential areas. As the route turns to the north, it passes through several unincorporated communities, such as Dalvikston, Fort Cameron, and Landover. When the route passes through Landover, it meets the Koiwai Beltway, and continues onto northbound National Route 404, through the Sunshine Gates Tunnel.
