The Hashemite Arabian Armed Forces, or the Royal Hashemite Armed Forces, are the military forces of the Hashemite Kingdom of Arabia. It consists of the Royal Hashemite Land Forces, Navy, Air Force, and the National Guard. The National Guard only becomes part of the military in wartime, being normally under the control of the Ministry of the National Guard rather than the Ministry of Defense, while the Hashemite Arabian Borders Guards and the Royal Guard Regiment are also separate services under the Ministry of the Interior, except in wartime. Hashemite Arabia has one of the best-funded armed forces in the world, with one of the world's largest military budgets.
The king of Hashemite Arabia is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, while the Chairman of the General Staff is the professional head of the military, the most senior uniformed officer and the King's military adviser.
