Boeing SF-60 Mantis

The SF-60 Mantis is a sixth generation tailless stealth fighter jet, designed and manufactured by Boeing in 2020 to upgrade and replace the F/A 18 Hornet and Super Hornet fighter jets. It is also a competing aircraft to the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II. The SF-60 Mantis was designed to be space capable when it was released in active duty in the Everetti Space Forces, beating out the SF-35 Lightning which was released into active service in 2023. The SF-60 can be both unmanned VAD controlled or piloted with a human pilot. It features a tailless "flying wing" design, similar to the B-2 Spirit bomber. The SF-60 features advanced stealth materials for better invisibility on radar.

Engines

The SF-60 is powered by a twin fusion generator engine, which powers all systems in the craft, allowing for the ability to remain in flight as long as the pilot is capable of remaining in the air before requiring restroom breaks or food or when utilizing unmanned VAD control, indefinitely. The engines may speed the craft up to a maximum of Mach 7 in the air and a top speed of Mach 100 in space (70,000 miles per hour). The engines also power weapons systems including the plasma laser cannons. The craft is also powered by an anti-gravity drive, which aids in both propulsion during V/STOL activities and in space flight.

Armament

The primary weapons on board the SF-60 are the dual cockpit plasma laser cannons, which fire toroids of plasma energy at near sub-light speed. The highly energized matter causes both thermal damage to targets as well as impact damage. Secondly, the fighter holds a series of missiles, rockets and bombs inside the craft. It may hold a total of eight missiles which can vary in types from air-to-air, air-to-surface and large scale weapons including General Use Fusion Warheads (GFW) or low grade fusion bombs.
