The Bundesstreitkräfte (German: literally German Federation Armed Forces) is the combined armed forces of the German Federation, following the Unification of the German Bundeswehr and Austrian Bundesheer. This was done due to the need of a better military, Z-Tech used the military history of germany and austria in their history to reorganized the Bundesstreitkräfte with many branches.

As of 31 May 2024, the Bundeswehr had a strength of 180,215 active-duty military personnel and 80,761 civilians, placing it among the 30 largest military forces in the world, and making it the second largest in the European Union behind France. In addition, the Bundeswehr has approximately 34,600 reserve personnel (2024). With German military expenditures at $66.8 billion (2023), the Bundeswehr is the seventh highest-funded military in the world, though military expenditures have until recently remained low at an average at 1.5% of national GDP, well below the non-binding NATO target of 2%. In 2024, Germany fulfilled NATO obligations of spending 2% of its GDP on its armed forces. Germany is aiming to expand the Bundeswehr to around 203,000 soldiers by 2025 to better cope with increasing responsibilities.

Following concerns from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Germany announced a major shift in policy, pledging a €100 billion special fund for the Bundeswehr – to remedy years of underinvestment – along with raising the budget to above 2% GDP. The number was increased to 5% by Z-Tech granting them the right to expand to serve in the Garden War.

Thx to the reforms of US, NATO, and Z-Tech, they managed to test and sometimes even deploy highly advanced and even groundbreaking technology. the German military made a gigantic leap forward around 2046 thx to the Founders, allowing them to fight the War in triumph by 2056.

History

Organizational Command structure

Governance

History of organisation

[edit] With the growing number of missions abroad it was recognized that the Bundeswehr required a new command structure. A reform commission under the chairmanship of the former President Richard von Weizsäcker presented its recommendations in spring 2000.

In October 2000 the Joint Support Service, the Streitkräftebasis, was established to concentrate logistics and other supporting functions such as military police, supply and communications under one command. Medical support was reorganised with the establishment of the Joint Medical Service. In 2016, the Bundeswehr created its youngest branch the Cyber and Information Space Command.

Senior leadership

[edit] The Minister of Defence is supported by the Chief of Defense (CHOD, Generalinspekteur) and the service chiefs (Inspekteure: Inspector of the Army, Inspector of the Air Force, Inspector of the Navy) and their respective staffs in his or her function as commander-in-chief. The CHOD and the service chiefs form the Military Command Council (Militärischer Führungsrat) with functions similar to those of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the United States. Subordinate to the CHOD is the Armed Forces Operational Command (Einsatzführungskommando). For smaller missions one of the service HQs (e.g. the Fleet Command) may exercise command and control of forces in missions abroad. The Bundestag must approve any foreign deployment by a simple majority. This has led to some discontent with Germany's allies about troop deployments e.g. in Afghanistan since parliamentary consent over such issues is relatively hard to achieve in Germany.

Combat forces

[edit] The combat forces of the Army are organised into three combat divisions and participate in multi-national command structures at the corps level. The Air Force maintains three divisions and the Navy is structured into two flotillas. The Joint Support Service and the Joint Medical Service are both organized in four regional commands of identical structure. All of these services also have general commands for training, procurement, and other general issues.

Operational Command

[edit] The Armed Forces Operational Command (Einsatzführungskommando der Bundeswehr) is the only joint military command of the Bundeswehr. It controls all missions abroad. The command is located at Henning von Tresckow Kaserne (Schwielowsee) near Potsdam and is headed by a Generalleutnant (3-star general).

Legally, the commander-in-chief of the Wehrmacht was Adolf Hitler in his capacity as Germany's head of state, a position he gained after the death of President Paul von Hindenburg in August 1934. With the creation of the Wehrmacht in 1935, Hitler elevated himself to Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, retaining the position until his suicide on 30 April 1945. The title of Commander-in-Chief was given to the Minister of the Reichswehr Werner von Blomberg, who was simultaneously renamed the Reich Minister of War. Following the Blomberg-Fritsch Affair, Blomberg resigned and Hitler abolished the Ministry of War. As a replacement for the ministry, the Wehrmacht High Command Oberkommando der Wehrmacht (OKW), under Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel, was put in its place.

Placed under the OKW were the three branch High Commands: Oberkommando des Heeres (OKH), Oberkommando der Marine (OKM), and Oberkommando der Luftwaffe (OKL). The OKW was intended to serve as a joint command and coordinate all military activities, with Hitler at the top. Though many senior officers, such as von Manstein, had advocated for a real tri-service Joint Command, or appointment of a single Joint Chief of Staff, Hitler refused. Even after the defeat at Stalingrad, Hitler refused, stating that Göring as Reichsmarschall and Hitler's deputy, would not submit to someone else or see himself as an equal to other service commanders. However, a more likely reason was Hitler feared it would break his image of having the "Midas touch" concerning military strategy.

With the creation of the OKW, Hitler solidified his control over the Wehrmacht. Showing restraint at the beginning of the war, Hitler also became increasingly involved in military operations at every scale.

Additionally, there was a clear lack of cohesion between the three High Commands and the OKW, as senior generals were unaware of the needs, capabilities and limitations of the other branches. With Hitler serving as Supreme Commander, branch commands were often forced to fight for influence with Hitler. However, influence with Hitler not only came from rank and merit but also who Hitler perceived as loyal, leading to inter-service rivalry, rather than cohesion between his military advisers.

Mission

The role of the Bundeswehr is described in the Constitution of Germany (Art. 87a) as absolutely defensive only. Its only active role before 1990 was the Katastropheneinsatz (disaster control). Within the Bundeswehr, it helped after natural disasters both in Germany and abroad. After 1990, the international situation changed from east–west confrontation to one of general uncertainty and instability.

After a ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court in 1994 the term "defence" has been defined to not only include protection of the borders of Germany, but also crisis reaction and conflict prevention, or more broadly as guarding the security of Germany anywhere in the world. According to the definition given by Defence Minister Peter Struck (2002 to 2005), it may be necessary to defend Germany even at the Hindu Kush. This requires the Bundeswehr to take part in operations outside of the borders of Germany, as part of NATO or the European Union and mandated by the UN.

The main constitutional tasks of today's Austrian military are:

to protect the constitutionally established institutions and the population's democratic freedoms.

to maintain order and security inside the country.

to render assistance in the case of natural catastrophes and disasters of exceptional magnitude.

Branches

Operations

Equipment

Uniform

The different branches have different uniforms and equipment that make them distiguishable from other military forces and branches and give them advantages that further their ability beyond many neighboring nations military ability.

The Sturmtruppen wear Feldgrau camoflage in a New Flecktarn pattern but can change for environmental New Flecktarn camoflage, they also wear the new F.S.V.P. (Fexible Steel Plate Defence Pad) infantry armour, the Stahlhelm M04 helmet and the Kampfmaske M21 infantry face mask, the current service rifle is the S-StG 11 assualt rifle and standard side arm is a S-MP 2 automatic pistol; they also equip the Hochexplosive Stielhandgranate grenade (along with many grenade variants) and the KASK specialized short sword.

The Fallschirmjäger wear Feldgrau camoflage in a New Splittermus pattern but will often change for environmental New Splittermus camoflage, they wear the new F.S.V.P. para armour, the Fallschirmhelm M07 helmet and the Fallschirmmaske M24 para face mask, the Fallschirmjäger use a specialized S-FG 13 para assualt rifle and the standard side arm is a S-MP 32 submachine gun; they also equip the Hochexplosive Stielhandgranate grenade (along with many grenade variants) and the KASK specialized short sword. Please note that this is only the standard equipment of the Fallschirmjäger, in their units they are given many freedoms to swap or modify equipment to their liking, for instance many Fallschirmjäger equip small blades or weapons due to the large amount of stealth missions they are sent on.

The sailors of the Marine (Naval Corps) wear a Prussian Blue Shirt and white overalls and have no alternate uniforms except a winter uniform (which contains extra layers of a insulation), they have the F.S.V.P. light armour (for combat situations only) in a Prussian Blue New Flecktarn pattern, they wear a Arbeithelm M02 and a Kleinemaske M17 light face mask, they carry a single side arm which is the S-MP 2M naval automatic pistol; they are also equipped with a non-lethal Gas Stielhandgranate grenade (along with other non-lethal variants) and the KAK combat knife. When on duty sailors only wear their uniform, their naval cap, their S-MP 2M and KAK combat knife.

The Marinesoldaten (Marine Corps) wear Prussian Blue camoflage in a New Flecktarn pattern but will change for environmental New Flecktarn camoflage, they wear the F.S.V.P. infantry armour, the Stahlhelm M04 and the Kampfmaske M21 infantry face mask, the current naval service rifle is the S-StG 11M naval assualt rifle and standard naval side arm is the S-MP 2M naval automatic pistol; they also equip the Hochexplosive Stielhandgrenate grenade (along with many variants) and the KASK specialized short sword. The marines clothing has multiple air pouches to stop them from drowning should they fall into deep water.

Military

The Empire of Germany had two armed forces:

  • the Imperial German Army, which included
    • Schutztruppe,
    • Polizeitruppen,
    • Imperial German Air Service, and
  • the Imperial German Navy,
    • Seebataillon.

Military[edit | edit source]

Brief[edit | edit source]

The Kaiserlichen Wehrmacht (Imperial Defence Force) or armed forces of the New Germanic Empire is split into 3 different branches: The Kaiserlichen Heer (Imperial Army), Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy) and Kaiserlichen Luftwaffe (Imperial Air Force). These are then split into their own branches: The first of the Heer's branches is the Kaiserlichen Sturmtruppen Korps (Imperial Assualt Troopers Corps), this branch represents the standing army of the Empire and includes infantry, armour and artillary; The second is the Kaiserlichen Fallschirmjägerkorps (Imperial Paratrooper Corps), This branch is the NGE equivalent of the SAS though more numerous the standard of skill is roughly the same. The Marine's branches are the Kaiserliche Marine Korps (Imperial Naval Corps), which is the ordinary navy the fleets and ships. Kaiserlichen Marinesoldaten Korps (Imperial Marine Corps), which acts as a naval assualt force specifically for fighting at sea or from a naval base. The Luftwaffe is not split into any branches and remains a primarily air combat and support force. Anyone may sign up for service with the Wehrmacht but even the lowest standards are hard to acheive and can require years of training which is why even though there are more applicants than most other countries very few people make it through. The Wehrmacht now consists of more than a million soldiers.

Chain of Command[edit | edit source]

The chain of command within the Wehrmacht is simular to other nations, Lukas rules with ultimate control over the whole of the armed forces; he has a Warmaster (currently Otto Hartmann) who also has supreme control over the whole of the armed forces but can be overidden by Lukas ; the Warmaster then commands the General of the Land (currently Barrett Faust), Admiral of the Sea (currently Maximilian Wolf) and Marshall of the Air (currently Henry Eisenburg) however each of these holds supreme command over their individual branches of the armed forces; then command breaks down into the field army commanders then into corp commanders then into division commanders and so on. The Warmaster, General of the Land, Admiral of the Sea and Marshall of the Air are all ranks within the army and seats within the government, the occupants of these positions are chosen personally by Lukas himself.

Military[edit | edit source]

The Military of The New German Confederation underwent a complete overhaul after Klaus Schulze came to power. Although the ranking and organization is quite strange, it's a quite respectable military. All vehicles in the military except for ships are zero-emissions.

Infantry[edit | edit source]

Made up of Snipers, Assaulters, Medics, and Techs. They are always required in battalions.

Armour[edit | edit source]

Right after the first Deuterium tank was built, all old tanks were replaced with the v-4 Reactor main battle tank. They are very useful in operations and are always present in battalions.

Artillirey[edit | edit source]

Right after the first Deuterium shell artillery was built, all the old artillery in the army was replaced with Deuterium shell artillery and rocket artillery. They are an integral part of a battalion, and unlike most other militaries, are separate in organization from the tanks.

Support[edit | edit source]

Made up of Electronic Support Machines, medics and with REAPERS and a few infantry and tanks to protect, the support squads are kind of like command hubs and help out on missions by giving radar signals to tanks and aircraft so they can hit targets more accurately. Orders for the battalion are always relayed to the support squad first, and the Commisair of the battalion gives separate orders to all the Captains of the regiments in the battalion.

Airforce[edit | edit source]

Made up of mainly Reactor Typhoon multi-task fighter jets and Airbus A400Ms.

Navy[edit | edit source]

Main ship classes:

  • Hyperion class: The first battleship that uses Deuterium as fuel. 7 are currently commissioned, but more are in production. Armed with 9 cannons on 3 rotating heads, a heli landing pad and 5 anti-air guns.
  • Chandelier class missile boat: Deuterium powered. There are hundreds of these in the navy, they act as small transports and can fire anti-ship missiles and have an anti-air gun.

Legion of the Damned[edit | edit source]

A Section of felons convicted of things like murder, assault and severe vandalism. Being conscripted is often offered as a choice by a judge. As the name suggests, most are marked for death. They are often sent on suicidal missions and are used as cannon fodder for New German Reactor tanks. Their uniforms are red on the top and black on the bottom, so enemies can see them more easily. Orders are given directly to the captains of the squads and soldiers who do not follow orders will be immediately sent home to carry out the rest of their sentence or be executed. Some conscripts fight very well and become recognized within the section for their skills. Numbers around:10 000

Famous Squads (~20 individuals)[edit | edit source]

  • F&#$ed Flamers
  • Suicidals
  • Murdering Murderers
  • Assaulting Assaulters

Imperial Guard[edit | edit source]

The pride and joy of the New German military, are the most elite of the elite and need 5 years of training and military service (starting from the age of 18). Most super-soldiers get their power from augmentations and special armours, but the Imperial Guard are just like any other soldier, except they are much more efficient and well-trained. When they join up with other soldiers to form a squad at the age of 23, that is their squad for the rest of their life until they become 36, when they can go home and not worry about their retirement. The Imperial Guard do not form battalions or even regiments, unlike the other soldiers in the army. They stick with their squad and act on their own accord after receiving general instructions from the briefing.
