Caluves ( listen) was a Batteni commander, explorer, and writer who lived during the reign of Marcoman in the 8th century.

Life

Caluves was born in Dromia around 745, to Battano-Solcian parents. He would later highlight this Solcian ancestry in his writings as a source of prestige.
