The Carykh Gallery is the official headquarters of the Order of Novus, one of four chivalric orders serving under the Kingdom of Kaywell and its successor, the Imperial Kingdom of Kaywell. It is located near the Kaywellian city ofNovus on Uingffh, itself located in the Ingffhaestian star system. The Order of Novus utilizes the gallery to hold meetings between its Grand Admirals; when not in military use, the Carykh Gallery is open the public and is often used for art shows, orchestral concerts, and other cultural events. Keliostic masses are also periodically held in the gallery's Novus Cathedral. The gallery occupies a total of 8,180 acres (3,310 hectares) and is notable for mirroring Stanford University, a private university located on the planet Earth ran by the native human race, in layout and design.
The Carykh Gallery was originally constructed at the beginning of the 15th Century at the command of Ring Mesmo Martius Kaywell, shortly after the formation of the Order of Novus itself. The gallery was designed by Siriosu rei Novus, the wester of Novus Order Grandmaster Siliskus rei Novus; in contrast to the Fernozzle Gallery, which utilizes the grandiose Imperium style of architecture, the Carykh Gallery utilizes the less extravagant, more quaint Staningffh style, which notably utilizes rectangular halls as opposed to the typical triangular halls of other Uingffhian buildings. Over the next few centuries, the gallery remained largely unchanged aside from its side halls, which belonged to and were stylized by the higher-ranking knights of the order; these halls were repainted whenever new high-ranking knights appeared in the order. Some Kaywellian monarchs opted to be crowned in the Carykh Gallery instead of the Korroway Imperial Palace. As Kaywellian imperialism waned, the Carykh Gallery was opened to the public during times of peace and began being used for public cultural events like art shows and concerts.
Carykh continued to act as a prominent cultural landmark as Kaywell entered its spacefaring era. Following the formation of the Interstellar Consortium of Polyingffh, Carykh and the other chivalric orders' galleries became popular tourist destinations for alien tourists, especially Tristanians. During the 2005 Thriteria Crisis, asteroid impacts notably damaged various parts of the Carykh Gallery; the Kaywellian government notably left the gallery in disrepair due to prioritizing other rescue operations. When the Imperial Kingdom of Kaywell arose, it had the damaged sections of Carykh swiftly rebuilt before banning non-Uingffhians from stepping foot in the gallery.
