The Commonwealth of Splatoon, officially the United Commonwealth of the Union of Splatoon is the united Nation-state on the Splatoon Earth. Their world is the first world to be freed from Gray Gravel by Z-Tech, they had been the most loyal and most respected ally in the Alliance. The Inklings and Octarians are in a great relationship between the plants and zombies, seeing them as Brothers and Sisters-in-arms for freeing them and for respecting as living beings, instead of slaves like gray gravel has done.

History

Long before fish had begun to walk upon land and squids had become kids. Back in the distant era of mankind A World War broke out so devastating that humanity was forced to move Into a system of underground bunkers. Eventually a warhead was fired at Antarctica Causing the ice caps to melt and the oceans to flood over the land And so humanity's last hope lied in the hands of a scientist Who created a cryogenic pod that could freeze someone for 10,000 years. But when met with the moral dilemma of whether to save all of humanity Or to save his pet cat Judd He chose his cat. The Earth then completely flooded over and the age of humanity had come to an end. Thousands of years passed and the sea levels eventually receded, Marine life began to develop intelligence and walk upon land Most looked... questionable... but  some had a more human-like appearance. Namely the Inklings who were the evolution of squids And the Octolings who were the evolutions of Octopus. Inklings and Octolings start their lives as cute little squidly creatures And by the time they reach 14 their  bodies fully transition into a human form However they lack any bones and are  made primarily of ink and cartilage Which means that they can easily shapeshift back into a smaller form Inklings are evolved species of squid that came to be after rising sea levels destroyed humanity, with the first of the Inklings being recorded to have lived around 5,000 years after the destruction of the human settlement of Alterna. Alterna inhabitants unintentionally accelerated the evolution of squids and other species of marine life, after psycho-reactive liquid crystals infused with lingering human thoughts and feelings leaked into the ocean surrounding the settlement. At least 2,000 years before the events of Splatoon, Turf Wars were established. The original Turf Wars were overseen by Judd, a cat that was cryogenically frozen by his human owner before the Earth was flooded. 100 years before the events of Splatoon, the Inklings and the Octarians engaged in a Great Turf War after otherwise having good relations, when rising sea levels caused disputes over the remaining territory. The young Cap'n Cuttlefish and his Inkling comrades were victorious, forcing the Octarians to retreat to desolate areas such as Octo Valley, Octo Canyon, and take up residence underground. during the events of the past(Splatoon 1, 2, octo expansion, and 3), Many of these Octolings defected and found their way to Inkopolis, where they have integrated themselves to live among the Inklings having their friendship restored but this peace was not meant to last.

Occuption

Their world was occupied by Gray Gravel. Gray Mann and General No Fun looked down on them viewing them as inferior and would be useful as slaves, they strictly forbid them from learning human knowledge, banned splatfest and their music, forbid playing turf wars and using their ink weapons. they were forced to work from 8am to 10pm, any one who broke the rules would be sprayed with gray paint and sent to Internment, extermination, and concentration camps. Splatoon became a very bleak and depressing place to live. All forms of fun and color are banned, anyone caught breaking the law will be sent to a "Defunification camp" where they will be brainwashed by Gray Mann and General Nofun themselves. Posters of them have been plastered on almost every building, along with the occasional "no" symbol and logo of Gray Gravel. The grey color is applied by spraying the target area with a paint gun. The citizens are required to wear grey uniforms and walk around town with poor posture and depressed faces. Having lost the right of fashion they once had, and to make things worst, massive over industrial factories covering the landscape have become common and forced labor widespread.

Freedom

they almost lost all hope but one day when a gray gravel soldier was about to arrest an inkling and octoling for resisting, the Soldier was pulled, eaten and killed by a PVZ Chomper and Zombie All-Star. Z-Tech had invaded Splatoon to get revenge on gray gravel from the destruction of suburbia and neighborville and to put in end to their empire. Because gray gravel forbid splatoon from having fun and ruled them under a iron fist, when they told the inklings and octarians to help them, they were shoot at with their own tools and captured weapons as revenge for years of occupation and taking their freedom away. since they were forbidden to learn human knowledge under gray gravel, they didn't understand them but they knew what they were saying and they hated them for that. They saw Z-Tech showed no mercy to gray gravel, plants and zombies ripped them apart and the zombies ate their remains, since they're zombies. Two-thirds of their industrial factories in the last hour alone have been either occupied or destroyed as revenge, making them lose valuable resources and by November, Splatoon was freed from gray gravel, gray mann and general no fun only manage to rescue about 10% of their occupation forces as the 90% were Killed as vengence or captured for retaliation. Inklings and octarians were finally happy (for once since occupation) that they can have their old lives back but their views on their liberators (z-tech which comprised of plants, zombies, minecrafters, and humans ) are......complicated. they did fear that they meant to take gray gravels place for occupation, but they didn't. Z-Tech hates gray gravel so much, that they became the opposite of them in every way, all laws under gray gravel were abolished, curfews were removed, fun, color, music, fashion, sports, splatfest, and turf wars are allowed again and have became tolerated, factories, ban symbols, gray gravel logos, internment, extermination, concentration and defunification camps were destroyed and symbols of Gray Gravel melted down, and they were grated access to all human knowledge again, but they were given more to study as way to convince them to join their side.

Alliance formed

Fresh from uniting the Nations of Earth, Z-Tech had freed the Splatoon world. The inklings and octarians declare Z-Tech to be their liberators, and so the Company forges a successful political and military alliance with splatoon. It is the inklings and octarians that equip the Company's new armies for the Great Liberation. In recognition of the fact that to achieve their Multiversal plans, Z-Techs needs the unique Abilities of the inklings and octarians, and their technological, scientific aid of Splatoon world, which would extend to future allies, the Splatoon world would become an ally to Z-Tech rather than her subject unlike gray gravel's occupation, which is cemented by the signing of the Articles of Unity, known as the Treaty of Union on Earth, which also put the Inklings and Octarians are in a great relationship between the plants and zombies, seeing them as Brothers and Sisters-in-arms for freeing them and for respecting as living beings, instead of slaves like gray gravel has done. In exchange, the splatoon would supply theCompany of Z-Techs with the weapons, starships, materiel and technicians required to initiate Great Liberation to destroy Gray Gravel.Co’s dominance of the multiverse.

Geography

Inkadia is the name of the region in which Inkopolis is located. It is located in what used to be Japan, with areas based on landmarks such as Mount Nantai, the Miura Peninsula, Chiba Prefecture, and the Tokyo Yamanote Line.

Inkadia

The direct center of Inkopolis, it mirrors Tokyo and New York City in terms of Architecture.

• Inkopolis: The capital city of the State and the most populous area.
• Inkopolis Square: One of the largest districts in Inkopolis and also one of the most dangerous
• Deepsea Metro: An underground subway system running deep beneath Inkopolis
• Mt. Natai: The highest point in Inkopolis State.
• Hammerhead Bridge: A bridge that connect the Inkadia region with the Splatlands.
• The Mahi Island: A series of island on the west coast of Inkopolis. It is the Hawaii of the country.

Splatsville

The southernmost part of the State, it contains a barren desert as well as a few cities and buildings in said desert. It mirrors Nevada and Xinjang, with Splatsville being based on Hong Kong.

Splatlands

The Splatlands is a region in Splatoon world. Currently, not much is known about the location, but it appears to be a seemingly large, barren and dry desert, possibly set in a post-apocalyptic world. Splatsville is stationed within it.

It has been revealed that the Maps Scorch Gorge, Eeltail Alley, Mincemeat Metalworks, Undertow Spillway, & Hagglefish Market are also located in the Splatlands.

Calamari County

A town-like area taking up most of Inkopolis State that is very populous, with some areas looking like cities and other areas looking like simple towns. It mirrors the Kansai region of Japan as well as southern America. The capital city of Calamari County is Shiokara.

Government and politics

Upon Z-Tech becoming a nation, each ally is given a choice to pick how to govern their homes; to prevent one race form being dominated, a collective leadership of each major race is created to share the powers of ruling together as head of state with a human governor as head of Government.

The Federal Constitution adopted in 2019 is the legal foundation of Splatoon's federal state. A new splatoon Constitution was adopted in 2018 that did not introduce notable changes to the federal structure. It outlines rights of individuals and citizen participation in public affairs, divides the powers between the Confederation and the provinces and defines federal jurisdiction and authority. Three main bodies govern on the federal level: the bicameral National Congress (legislative), the Federal Council (executive) and the Federal Court (judicial).

Parliament

The Splatoon Parliament consists of two houses: the House of Representatives which has 46 representatives (two from each canton and one from each half-canton) who are elected under a system determined by each canton, and the Senate, which consists of 200 members who are elected under a system of proportional representation, reflecting each canton's population. Members serve part-time for 4 years (a Milizsystem or citizen legislature). When both houses are in joint session, they are known collectively as the National Congress.

Presidency of the Presidium Commonwealth

The Presidency of the Presidium Commonwealth directs the federal government, the federal administration, and serves as a collective Head of State. It is a collegial body of seven members, elected for a four-year term by the National Congress, which also oversees the Presidium. The President of the Presidium is elected by the Congress from among the seven members, traditionally in rotation and for a one-year term; the President chairs the government and executes representative functions. The president is a primus inter pares with no additional powers and remains the head of a department within the administration.

The government has been a coalition of the four major political parties since 2039, each party having a number of seats that roughly reflects its share of the electorate and representation in the federal parliament. The classic distribution of 1 WUP, 2 SPP, 2 SDP and 2 ODPP as it stood from 2031 to 2053 was known as the "magic formula". Following the 2055 Presidium Commonwealth elections, the seven seats in the Presidency of the Presidium Commonwealth were distributed as follows:

1. 2 seat for the Octo Democratic People's Party (ODPP),
2. 1 seats for the Worker's Unionist Party (WUP),
3. 2 seats for the Squid Democratic Party (SDP),
4. 2 seats for the Splatoon People's Party (SPP).

Supreme Court

The function of the Federal Supreme Court is to hear appeals against rulings of cantonal or federal courts. The judges are elected by the National Congress for six-year terms.
