Daniel Anton Yarmouth (born November 8, 1979) commonly known by his nickname Danny is a Continental-Sierran politician and labor leader serving as the party chair of the Porciúncula County Democratic-Republican Party since 2018. Yarmouth previously served as the deputy chair of the Porciúncula County Democratic-Republican Party from 2015 to 2017, and one term on the Porciúncula County Board of Supervisors from 2014 to 2016. Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors, Yarmouth served on the Executive Council of the SFI–CLO, and as a trustee of the Abode Investment Trust and Industrial Investment Trust.

Early life and education

Born in Bloomfield, Indiana to Continental parents, Yarmouth and his mother immigrated in 1981 to reunite with his maternal family in Sacramento, Tahoe. His father Ulysses Yarmouth remained within the United Commonwealth, serving as an officer within the Continental Army. Yarmouth moved to Porciúncula in 1983, settling in the neighborhood of Wilmington. He attended Phineas Banning High School and later the Sierra Polytechnic National University, San Luis Obispo in Kings. He joined the Kings Democratic-Republican Party as an campaign canvasser in Fort Travis, Kings in 1999, during the gubernatorial election between Mitch Fantano and Leslie Steele. Upon the defeat of Fantano, Yarmouth returned to Porciúncula were he began working for the Porciúncula Labor Federation.

Career

Yarmouth worked to mobilize members of labor throughout his time with the Porciúncula Labor Federation, and utilized the electoral infrastructure he had built to help narrowly win the 2004 gubernatorial for Steven Hong. He was elected as a precinct committeeman of the Porciúncula County Democratic-Republican Party in 2004, and in 2005 was appointed as the Chair of the Willmington Democratic Club. After leaving the local labor council in 2006, he joined the International Brotherhood of Longshoremen as a union organizer.

In 2007 Yarmouth assisted in organizing the Porciúncula Offshore Oil Port, a recently built facility located nearly 18 nautical miles off the coast of Southern Sierra. It was the last non-unionized port within Sierra, effectively securing the Longshoremen's control over Sierra's international petroleum imports. He led the 2009 Ports of Sierra strike, after the ports of Porciúncula, Grands Ballons and Oakland forced a lockout against the International Brotherhood of Longshoremen. Roughly 15,000 longshoremen at the three ports went on strike, causing an estimated economic loss of $1 billion per day. The strike ended within a week, and a new contract was ratified.
