East African Federation (Manifest Destiny Max)

The East African Federation (Swahili: Shirikisho la Afrika Mashariki), commonly referred to as East Africa or EAF, is a country in East Africa within the African Great Lakes region. It borders the UAR to the north, Ethiopia and Somalia to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the east (including maritime borders with Comoros), Mozambique and Malawi to the south, Zambiezia to the southwest, and Central Africa to the west. Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, is in northeastern East Africa.

History

In the early 1960s, the nations of Tanganikya, Uganda, and Kenya agreed to unite into a union known as the “East African Federation”. The new nation gained international recognition worldwide, along with British recognition.
