Encyclopedia Andromeda is a science fiction project. Taking place in the far distant future, Encyclopedia Andromeda details Human life in the Andromeda Galaxy, which is made possible by a mysterious portal disguised as a black hole that connects the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy. However, said portal is unexpectedly closed, forcing the isolated humans of the Andromeda Galaxy to forge their own path in the cosmos.
The project was officially launched on October 5, 2022, though many major details pertaining to the history and contemporary times within the project were established in a sandbox outline. While examining all parts of this alternate Andromeda Galaxy, the project is written through the lens of someone from the year 500 A.T.C.
Premise
In the far distant future, a black hole is discovered near the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy. While having no visual distinguishable features, the black hole is special as it is no ordinary space anomaly. Rather, the black hole, dubbed the Continental Cross, is a portal to the Andromeda Galaxy, the closest galaxy to the Milky Way. Over a period of four-hundred years, humans used the cross to travel to the Andromeda Galaxy, colonizing new worlds and discovering strange places. This new age of human exploration and discovery, dubbed the Golden Age by historians, came to an abrupt end, when the cross seemingly closed for no apparent reason, cutting all forms of communication between the colonists and the Milky Way.
Despite all odds, some of the human colonies established by the Andromedean Colonial Association were able to survive what would be known as "The Closing", and since the cut from the Milky Way have thrived and prospered, making their own mark in this different branch of human history.

Dating system
In the Andromeda Galaxy, the dating system is centered around the Collapse, the event in which the portal between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies was mysteriously closed. Years prior to the Closing are categorized as ‘’’B.T.C.’’’ or ‘’’Before The Closing’’’, and years following the Closing are categorized as ‘’’A.T.C.’’ or ‘’’After The Closing’’’. In comparison to the Gregorian Calendar, the Closing occurred in January of 2893 A.D.
