Eugene Victor Debs (November 5, 1855 – October 20, 1926) was an American socialist, political activist, writer/author, trade unionist, one of the founding members of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), and statesman who served as the first President of America from 1906 up until his death in the year 1926.
