Faith is the fifth studio album and second posthumous album by the late Sierran rapper Genesys. It is his second and last double-album. It was released on 2 June, 2000, on what would have been his 29th birthday and less than two years after his death, debuting at number three on the KS Sunset 100. It features guest appearances from Donald Leslie, King Rakeem, Morisse, D. Celli, Zaa, Gemset, Mo Beezy, Lil Jeremi, Roc Steady, B Monie, Big Frank, Cashady and Immortal Keys.

It would be supported by six singles: "Street Dreams, Pt. II" featuring D. Celli, "Blaze a 40", "I Really Want to Show You" featuring King Rakeem, Morisse and D. Celli, "Sierran Way" featuring Trick Gabbana, "All I Need" and "Play On Playa" featuring Immortal Keys.

Background and release

In January 2000, Porciúncula-based rapper and collaborator Immortal Keys would have an interview with Sunset, with Genesys being brought up and the rapper elaborating on his recording process:

"You know he told me, and it kind of bothered me because I never heard nobody say this before. He said, "Keys like, I got- I have albums for when I die." He told me that, and it was shocking to me, you know? But I understood it, and now I know I have albums for when I pass, because thats all I do is record, this is an art- we have a passion for rapping."

The album is the first of two albums (the second being 400 Years) that consists of a remixed collection of previously unreleased material, which was primarily handled by DJ and producer Dave "Killa" Sean, alongside Garner's mother Caroll Garner, with additional production provided by JMIV, Flav Bandz, Marty Stewart, DJ Phonke, the Wizzrd and Doc Dre, while certain songs maintain their original production by H.E.S. It includes "Street Dreams, Pt. II" featuring R&B singer D. Celli, with the song have been previously released in 1996 but hadn't been issued on a studio release. Other songs include "I Really Want to Show You" featuring King Rakeem, D. Celli and background vocals from Morisse, with Rakeem's inclusion being of notable controversy due to both spear-heading the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry which led to their respective deaths. The song's existence is entirely a posthumous production, with both Rakeem and Genesys' vocals being spliced into a new song, though both estates would respectively announce the song in collaboration alongside Immortal Keys, with the rapper stating that "Kids around the world are watching. By calling a truce, we're giving them something to live for".
