Game bang (Surean: ゲーム房; "hong (房)" approximately means "room" in Surean) is a variation of a LAN gaming center, where one can play multiplayer computer games with others. Game hongs are extremely popular among all ages of Sureans and foreigners visiting Surea alike. It became extremely popular when Starcraft came out in 1998. Although computers and broadband penetration per capita were very high, many young people go to Game hongs to play LAN-based multiplayer games, with others.
Although the age range of Game-hong users varies, they are typically students ranging from primary school to 60. Inside Game hongs, people may smoke, eat, and drink. Game hongs sell ramen noodles, canned coffee, isotonic drinks, and other snacks.
Most Surean Game hongs range between 100 yun (which is roughly worth a dollar) to 200 yun (which is roughly two dollars) per hour which makes it really popular to ages young and old, and to anyone with nothing else to do.
