Grand Theft Auto, also referred to as Grand Theft Auto 1 in order to differentiate between the original game and the series' individual titles, is the first game in the Grand Theft Auto series, developed by DMA Design and published by BMG Interactive. The game was originally released on November 28th, 2001, for PC and December 14th, 2001, for PlayStation. A Game Boy Color port developed by Tarantula Studios released on November 22nd, 1999. It is also one of the 20 preloaded games on the PlayStation Classic console, released in December 2022.
