The Gray Industrial Empire, also referred to as the Gray Gravel Empire, It encompassed the Gray Gravel world and several colonies, protectorates, mandates, and other territories in the Multiverse.
The Gray Gravel Empire consistes of 10 Worlds, each with their own nobility, four constituent kingdoms, six grand duchies, Six duchies, seven principalities, three free Hanseatic cities, and one imperial territory. While Gray Gravel is one of many kingdoms in the realm, it contained about two-thirds of the Empire's population and territory, and Gray Gravel dominance is also constitutionally established, since the Leader of Gray Gravel is also the Industrial Emperor.
By 2049, the Corporation fortunes had taken a turn for the worse as the Rise of Z-Tech, intervention of William Blazkowicz, Carlos Pardo and the resurgence of resistances has led to the sabotage of their superior technological advantage, culminating in the death of General Deathshead who had led this aggressive advance in science and technology, and losing their leaders of Gray Mann and No-Fun. The Corporation remained in firm control of a small amount of the inner multiverse but the resistance steadily grew in strength and numbers as Z-Tech targeted several Gray Gravel strongholds in many worlds before refocusing their efforts on the occupied United States and core worlds. The destruction of their and their allies leadership triggered many Revolutions that saw the liberation of the US, and Liberation wars, threatening their vast dominion once more.
This led to multiple uprisings across the globe, causing the Corporation to quickly lose tons of territories across multiple continents and worlds. All the freed countries later on re-established the United Nations which was disbanded since the begginning of the war, finally toppled the Gray Gravel regime and ended their empire. Z-Tech then formally replaced the Gray Gravel.Corporation as a new Multiversal government.
In the years after, several Imperial holdouts continued to resist the UFN, while a new state, The Military State, derived legitimacy by claiming Imperial legacy, and that began a clandestine armament program.
History
After Uniting with the Ministry of No Fun, Red, Blue, Mann.Co and TF industries and teaming up with General No-Fun, Gray Gravel has begun their empire-building. They first invaded the Plant-Zombie world and completed the capture and conquest of Suburbia and Neighborville.
After the capture and conquest of Suburbia and Neighborville by Gray Gravel.Co, Its habitats, the Plants, Zombies, and Humans were scattered throughout the multiverse. Gray Gravel renamed Suburbia and Neighborville to Roburbia and No-Fun Land and Enslaved many humans while the Plants and Zombies got away. The color Gray was only the color allowed and OverIndustrial laws were implemented and strictly enforced. Gray Gravel had ruined all forms of life in Suburbia and Neighborville. They thought that the plants and zombies were easily defeated, but they were mistaken.
With their leaders, Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss, and their new allies, Carlos, and his new best friend Lawrence Dye; Suburbia’s inhabitants gathered Allied Resistance against Gray Gravel from across the multiverse and United in an Alliance to defeat Gray Gravel under the corporation of Z-Tech.Industries. When they finally gained enough strength, They had finally launched a full-scale attack on Roburbia and No-Fun land to reclaim their homeland, Gray Gravel fought a desperate battle to hold control of their occupied territory but it was futile. By the end, Z-Tech had taken back Roburbia and No-Fun land from Gray Gravel and forced them to retreat. The Cities were then merged and were renamed Suburmania, Their old laws were abolished as the citizens were set free, any of their factories and bases were either destroyed or repurposed, and Life was restored to their liberated homeland.
Soon after the liberation, Z-Tech had began an expansion campaign to destroy Gray Gravel.Co’s dominance of the multiverse
When General No-fun and Gray Mann died and commander Boring retired, A General named O’Connor took over. Under him, Gray Gravel got new allies and had won many battles against Z-Tech, they had fully declared war on Z-Tech as the Gray Industrial Empire under his new name ‘Emperor Tyrannicus’ while Z-Tech got new allies of their own and became the United Federation Under President Carlos Pardo of the Z-Tech Administration.
Soon after their new nations were found, neither were able advance into each other's territory which led to a stalemate. Thus a truce was declared to secure their new positions but only time will tell when the truce collapses.
Culture and Society
The transition from the Corporation to the Empire was also marked by major changes in the new government's architectural aesthetic. While the democratic government favored sweeping lines in its architecture, Gray Gravel's authoritarian regime preferred bold and brutalist designs. This brutalist style first emerged before the foundation of the Empire during the Robot Wars, when an architect transformed the municipal grounds in their world into military command centers. A prime example of architect's work was the Imperial Center for Military Operations.
All forms of fun and color are banned, anyone caught breaking the law will be sent to a "defunification camp" where they will be brainwashed by General Nofun himself. Posters of the general are plastered on almost every building, along with the occasional "no" symbol. however Team Deathmatch is a popular sport within the Industrial Empire, with many worlds hosting teams that occasionally competed with one another. Underground gladiatorial games existed within Imperial territories,
Humanocentric single-species domination were not coincidental, but intended under the High Human cultural model. Imperial propaganda actively supported state-sponsored ethnocentric xenophobia and fear-mongering. To the Empire, "aliens" were by and large unwelcome within its order, with aliens being seen as "different" and "strange." As such, the Empire treated nonhuman segments of its populations as serfs, slaves, or obstacles needing to be tamed, removed, or ignored. The Empire supported the idea that aliens were untrustworthy—unlike humans—and behind their veneer of innocence lurked a vicious monster. The Imperial propaganda machine was so effective in its message that even near-human species exhibited an inherent distrust towards nonhuman populations. Since the Empire looked down on aliens, it was rare for aliens to serve as Imperial officers. Nevertheless, some nonhumans were known to occupy lofty roles within the Empire.
their Cities are very dull in color and much more blocky/geometric in appearance. It is made up entirely of skyscrapers, and other large buildings, resembling large cities. That made the humans distrustful of the other species of the galaxy during the Imperial Era. In addition to state-sponsored discrimination against a predominantly nonhuman Multiverse, the Empire discouraged the learning of alien languages and cultures such as Splatoon in an effort to destroy foreign cultures, and sought to impose high "Imperial standards" for its citizens.
Music
Music is Banned from all forms of Life. As they conquer worlds in the multiverse, they strictly forbid many things from life, banned holidays and music, forbid playing games and using toys. In addition to literature, musical expression was also repressed during the Imperial era, and at times the music of many former composers was banned altogether. people are forced to work from 8am to 10pm, any one who broke the rules would be sprayed with gray paint and sent to Internment, extermination, and concentration camps. Any world that is under their control becomes a very bleak and depressing place to live. All forms of fun and color are banned, anyone caught breaking the law will be sent to a "Defunification camp" where they will be brainwashed by Gray Mann and General Nofun themselves. Posters of them have been plastered on almost every building, along with the occasional "no" symbol and logo of Gray Gravel. The grey color is applied by spraying the target area with a paint gun. The citizens are required to wear grey uniforms and walk around town with poor posture and depressed faces. Having lost many rights and freedoms they once had, and to make things worst, massive over industrial factories covering the landscape have become common and forced labor widespread.
Mass media
There is little freedom of speech or press. The media is regulated to promote fasctis principles and ideologies. Schools, youth groups and other educational institutions are also designed to serve this purpose amongst the young. Possession of outlawed or “degenerate” media is met with harsh punishment. Religion is regulated, and the regime appears to be atheistic, or has adopted a racialized form of Paganism.
As a human-dominated government, the Industrial Empire supported Basic English Standard and Latin writing system. Learning of foreign languages and cultures for the general populace is disapproved of.
Food
the cusine of the empire was mostly bland under gray mann and no-fun, but after Tyrannicus takes over, he allowed food to stop being controlled. thus afterwards, It has been significantly influenced by Europeans, indigenous Native Americans, Africans, Asians, Pacific Islanders, and many other cultures and traditions. thus is one of few fun or liberial things to be allowed under gray gravel.
Sports
All forms of fun and sports are banned, All forms of fun and color are banned, anyone caught breaking the law will be sent to a "Defunification camp" where they will be brainwashed by Gray Mann and General Nofun themselves.
Healthcare
Education:
legislation passed led to the removal of many teachers, professors, and officials from the education system. Teachers had to take an oath of loyalty and obedience to Gray Gravel;, and those who failed to show sufficient conformity to imperial ideals were often reported by students or fellow teachers and dismissed. Lack of funding for salaries led to many teachers leaving the profession. The average class size increased from 37 in 2017 to 43 in 2038 due to the resulting teacher shortage.
Frequent and often contradictory directives were issued by Interior Minister of the Industrial Ministry of Science, Education and Culture, and other agencies regarding content of lessons and acceptable textbooks for use in primary and secondary schools. Books deemed unacceptable to the regime were removed from school libraries. Indoctrination in fasctis ideology was made compulsory in January 2034. Students selected as future members of the party elite are indoctrinated from the age of 12 at Imperial Schools for primary education and National Political Institutes of Education for secondary education. Detailed indoctrination of future holders of elite military rank is undertaken at Order Castles.
Population:
Despite being a overindustrial society, Gray Gravel has a strong tobacco control movement, as pioneering research inspired by Franz H. Müller in 1939 demonstrated a causal link between smoking and lung cancer. The imperial Health Office took measures to try to limit smoking, including producing lectures and pamphlets. Smoking was controlled in many workplaces, on trains, and among on-duty members of the military. Government agencies also worked to control other carcinogenic substances such as asbestos and pesticides. As part of a general public health campaign, water supplies were cleaned up, lead and mercury were removed from consumer products, and women were urged to undergo regular screenings for breast cancer. Government-run health care insurance plans are available.
Slavery
- "We have a surplus of slave labor—but what to do with it?
- ―Imperial Commandant
The Empire's rise saw the gradual repeal of many anti-slavery laws. Species such as the Inklings and Octarians are declared non-sentient. Subsequently much of the Imperial war machine is built on the shoulders of the enslaved populations, who saw their homeworlds ecologically devastated.
Within the Empire, non-humans are routinely subjugated, with many sent to numerous slave labor camps across the multiverse, one of the most infamous being themines of splatoon, where Splatoon slaves, prized for their strength and huge numbers, are sent to mine the valuable minerials located in the planet's interior. It was a literal death sentence for many, with an expected survival time of three months. Humanoid species often had a longer survival time, ranging from one to two years in the mines.
Abusive and exploitative, the Empire forcibly relocated settlers and pressed them into Imperial factory work. Resisting could see ones family be kidnapped and killed. Unemployment in strategic resource systems was declared unlawful. On the former homeworld of Z-Tech, isolated settlements often existed with little or no knowledge about the Empire at large, with those same camps oftentimes being disbanded and their inhabitants relocated to slave labor camps when needed. Escaped slaves or displaced persons often made up these camps, similar to springdale on the yo kai world. Those that resisted Imperial rule could see their whole planet devastated and species reduced to near-extinction, such as undertale, who were forced to work in coal mines on planets such as helghan.
Apparel:
The grey color is applied by spraying the target area with a paint gun. The citizens are required to wear grey uniforms and walk around town with poor posture and depressed faces.
Foreign relations
Despite having most of the multuverse in their grasp, gray gravel is often on the defensive against aggressive and destructive resistance attacks due to the sheer brutality of their rule. The Kreisau Circle, Z-Tech and The global Resistance network are only a few of the many mostly isolated movements worldwide that oppose the imperial regime.
Having the most of the world at their finger-tips, combined with their technology and echo-chamber propaganda with their allies has made them become arrogant and somewhat careless, since even their powerful war machines like the Ausmerzer, Robot Mercanaries, or secure facilities such as the Oberkommando on Venus are shown to have a lot of otherwise expensive and ingenious systems crippled with basic security flaws that can be exploited by infiltrators. The belief in their own inherited superiority and a decade of oppressing mostly unarmed civilians means that they don't take Z-Tech or the resistance they meet as worthy opponents, largely resulting in humiliating and bloody setbacks. Wyatt and Abby both make a point of devising strategies based solely on the assumption of the Nazis' carelessness and pathological inability to respect their opponents intellectually. Only O'Connor, through bitter experience, learns to take Z-Tech even remotely seriously, but drops his guard down immediately following Suburbia's and Neighborville's Liberation, secure in the idea that the 'terrorists' would crumble without their all-important leader. A former Eisenwald prison guard in Gray City can be overheard lamenting the days when Z-Tech and their allies was still a present threat, believing he made 'you focus on the job', but then goes on to fantasize about being the one to somehow land the killing blow.
After the events in the liberation of Suburmania by Z-Tech, they grip on the world began to crumble as the of Nazi Scientest Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse and of many officals cripples their entire Research Division. To make matters worse for the them, the loss of General Engel and both Oberkommandos, Gray Mann and No-Fun passing away, the compromise of the Venus base, the assassination of all the Imperial commanders in the Occupied territories and the capture of the Ausmerzer and Eva's Hammer supercharged the Resistance movement. The cost of keeping the world under heel became overwhelming and the occupation unsustainable.
By 2050, Gray Gravel have lost their empire to Z-Tech and the Nazis have been pushed back to Europe, losing control of the rest of the world. Most notably, the Second American Revolution wrested control of North America, liberating it from occupation by Gray Gravel and Nazi jackboots and their collaborators, such as the KKK. Perhaps their only saving grace is that many of the newly-liberated nations of the world are focused on rebuilding and preparing for the apocalypse, which leads to lots of international tension and hamstrings attempts to organize a coalition against the monstrous, genocidal regime squatting in Europe. This was only halted by Gray Gravel assisting them which made them allies but this is not enough to save them from defeat.
Government and Politics
The politics of the Gray Industrial Empire takes place in the context of a unitary absolute monarchy, along traditional monarchy lines, where the Emperor is both the head of state and Supreme Commander-In-Chief. Decisions are, to a large extent, made on the basis of consultation among the Emperor, the Council of Marshals, Imperial scholars (until mid-2030s), Military leaders and other traditional elites of the society. critics and Western columnists have already accused the Imperial government of being totalitarian, several political scientists have regarded it as having features of a authoritarian-totalitarian state.
Executive
With the end of the First Garden War and the formation of the First Industrial Empire, Tyrannicus rules with absolute power as Emperor. In the administration of Gray Gravel dominated by the military political movement during the War, the civil central government is under the management of military men and their right-wing civilian allies, along with members of the nobility and Imperial Family. The Emperor is in the center of this power structure as supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Armed Forces and head of state.
Imperial Ruling Council
Unwilling to embroil himself in the day-to-day running of the Empire, the Emperor leaves the mundane work to the Imperial Ruling Council (IRC), an advisory body with whom he confers on vital affairs of state. The group is made up of Imperial Advisors, that serve as ministers and counselors who are rarely far from his side and have a noted taste in extravagant clothing. The spokesman of the Imperial Ruling Council is the Imperial High Chancellor, who attends most of the Imperial Parliament's sessions. Lord Rayder functions as an intermediary for Emperor Tyrannicus, managing his schedule, screening his calls and contacting other Imperial dignitaries and officers on his behalf; despite this, he is deemed a mere sycophant by many. The Imperial Ruling Council also keeps tabs on the progress of the Imperial Military and delivers news from Imperial High Command to the Emperor.
Imperial High Command
The Emperor leaves the actual martial management to Imperial High Command (IHC), a central command structure that notably coordinates the Empire's war effort. The cabinet enjoys much power within the government's hierarchy, being responsible for: sanctioning weapons programs (such as the Cyberdemons project), supervising the armed forces, forming strategies and organizing expansionary or pacification campaigns. Imperial High Command is able to take any serious action against rebel sympathizers with allies in the Imperial Parliament. The group workd closely with the Council of Marshals and notified the Imperial Ruling Council on important developments. Imperial High Command maintained a number of subdivisions, each charged with directing the naval, ground and intelligence assets of the Imperial Military. The most important of these are the Joint Chiefs, an executive group of senior officers who advised both the Emperor and the Commander-in-Chief on all martial-related matters. Other members included the Grand Admirals, a cadre of the twelve highest-ranking naval officers that helmed large Imperial fleets and policed Imperial Space; Grand Admirald, the commander of the imperial Fleet, are the most famous of the military.
Council of Marshals
Aside from the Imperial Ruling Council and Imperial High Command, power resides in the hands of "administrators" (planetary governors) that form the Council of Marshals. The cabinet is composed of twenty Marshals (sector governors) and their superiors, the "Grand Marshals" (oversector governors), all of whom answer directly to the Emperor. The Marshals are senior officials who held the governorship over Administrators of minor provinces and commanded a Sector Fleet-size imperial armed forces at the sector level. The Grand Marshals are among the Industrial Empire's top figures, being on equal-footing with the Imperial High Chancellor and the Commander-in-Chief and having been similarly appointed by the Emperor himself. The Council of Marshals works closely with Imperial High Command and is therefore able to dispose of the Imperial Military's assets to enforce the Emperor's authority in its "provinces".
Judiciary
The Empire is depicted as arbitrary and cruel in its rule over ordinary people, particularly when it comes to certain agencies such as the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB), which acts as a secret police force. The autocracy takes to retroactively extending the sentences of prisoners, moving prisoners around to different facilities after they are due to be released, euthanizing labor camp prisoners when they become too ill to work, not permitting defendants in criminal cases to present a defense, and committing mass murder when its officers feel they are losing control of a situation. It also engages in torture of subjects of interest and carries out arbitrary executions for political purposes. ISB agents are assigned to spy on political dissidents in the Imperial Parliament.
Imperial Security Bureau
The Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) is the civilian intelligence branch of the Industrial Empire that is charged with matters of internal state security and law enforcement, being analogous to the Gestapo or the Schutzstaffel, as well as the KGB. Consisting of several supervisors overseeing multiple sectors, they are charged with matters of counter-terrorism, criminal investigation, internal affairs, state security, state-sponsored propaganda and ensuring the political loyalty of citizens to the Empire.
Organizations
Other newly created governmental positions such as the Ministry of Advanced Research are also mentioned to be active within the Empire, Solely placed under the control of Deathshead to continue the Reich's and Gray Gravel's scientific advancements.
Economy
in 2019, the Currency of former nations was replaced by the Imperial G-Bucks, which became the standard currency in circulation throughout the Empire. With the advent of the New Order, money from the time of the former nations became worthless as they were phased out.
Gray Gravel began an Imperialization or nationalization doctrine of how the Empire took over administrations of organizations that were formerly independent. Both large and small Corporations and respective governments of formerly independent nations were Imperialized by the time of the Battle of Jerusalem
In the months following the Battle of the World of 1984, they had nationalized all aspects of military, industrial, and agricultural production. Nevertheless, some forms of companies remained independent. Years later, emperor tyrannicus ordered the empire to act differently, ensuring all companies were completely taken over.
Communication
Acquiring much of the communications systems from former Nations, the Empire nationalized the News Networks and its galaxy-spanning broadcasts and hyperspace-powered communication systems. The new Imperial Network is overseen by the Ministry of Information, who in tandem with the Imperial Press Corps, ensured reporting stayed in line with "acceptable" news coverage and government policy. While the Imperial Network is the only state-sanctioned news agency, local news outlets that supported the Industrial Empire a alrelowed to remain. Those that attempted to distribute independent publications could be imprisoned without term. It was also law that the Imperial HoloNet be broadcast at all times in every drinking establishment.
As expected, the Mulitverse Network remained one of the most-viewed news stations in the Multiverse, forming public opinion and reporting on pro-Imperial issues and events. When military objectives trumped civilian information, the Empire shut down the local Network in varying sectors, and prioritized Network transmissions to the military, giving Tyrannicus and his armed forces near-instantaneous communication across the entire Multiverse.
Imperial Industrial Armed Forces
The Imperial Industrial Armed Forces, also referred to as the Imperial Armed Forces, is the unified principal military armed forces of the GIE and the armed wing of the Gray Gravel and from 2017 to 2055 in the present. comprised the various branches of the armed forces of the Gray Industrial Empire, such as the Imperial Industrial Army, Imperial Marine Corps, Industrial Imperial Coast Guard, Imperial Industrial Navy, Imperial Industrial Air Force, Industrial Space Force, and the Inter-Dimensional Imperial Armed Forces, as well as agencies such as Imperial Intelligence.
Military Equipment and Arsenal’s
Science and technology
Gray Gravel has made various technological discoveries and leaps in years, thanks to Mann.Co's discovery of a mysterious metal element known as Australium. While the Empire has discovered only a fraction of other various advanced technologies in vaults located on their world and conquered, it has led to aggressive leaps in technological development as Australium has ablilties that can adapt and transform itself into different states and forms, with invigorating health effects, therefore making it extremely valuable and sought-after.
Aerospace technology has advanced with The discovery of Australium has been the cause of Gray Gravel's rapid technological advancement. Said advances include cloaking devices, teleportation devices, the "entire spectrum of moustache sciences", Creation of anti-gravity, with aircraft and high speed spaceships. This has proven pivotal to the Empire's exploration of space and the Multiverse, which in real-world terms is nothing short of astounding. The Empire has conducted many moon landings as early as 2020, and by 2035, is in the process of colonising some planet, one officer dismissing it won't be habitable for (only) years.
Advances in physics and chemistry have also been made, with developments in energy weapons such as lasers and Australium-based technology being furthered by the Empire, ranging from laser and plasma weaponry to the When a player is killed by one of these weapons, their body model turns into a golden statue that remains for others to see. As of the Two Cities Update, Australium weapons have been expanded to a range of weapons, some of which do not share the ragdoll-altering qualities of the original two weapons added that are made from Australium.
Robotics, computing, and artificial intelligence have also advanced at an incredible rate, with robots and automatons in common use across the empire, in both civilian and military capacities. These range from mundane protocol, cleaning, and mail-sorting robots to weapons of war, ranging from the Giant soldier units to even larger mechanized monstrosities, such as the Autoturrets and Guard Robot units in the PvZ World, the Heavers units in the Americas, the iconic deadnaut mechs, and outright weapons of terror like the Gray Monitor and the prototype Gray Tank Walker robots. Personal computing has seemingly advanced as well, with computer terminals and reel-to-reel machines ever ubiquitous across the Empire. Many appliances, domestic, industrial and military, are fully automated, if not always reliable.
By the 2040-50s, the Empire's technological development stagnated. With the rise of Z-Tech to Combat Gray Gravel, Having lost many genius like the Nazi Scientest Deathshead and much of their territories from the multiverse, the remnant territories of Gray Gravel in the Southern parts of the Multiverse have been forced to consolidate their remaining resources and technology, resulting in budget-cutting measures such as the complete cancellation of the space program that sent the Empire to the stars along with the expeditions to discover more area rich with Australium, and the continued use of 2030s-era robots and equipment in the Military, which, while not exactly obsolete, have clear weaknesses that have been taken advantage of by their enemies.
Overall
Industry
Prior to the Garden War, Gray Gravel was a recognized industrial power, with mass manufacturing a norm across the nation. Following the Gray Gravel conquest of the Multiverse, technology advanced even further with new and exotic machinery brought to many nations by their Regime, ranging from rocket-propelled underground trains used by the Imperial Military to security Drone models placed in many cities and towns, alongside more mundane technologies like the Burger Joe waiter robots used in American Diners. However, the advances in technology were primarily oriented to serve the military needs of the Military and any remaining technologies used by civilians came at the expense of extreme surveillance measures placed by the empire in order to ensure compliance to Gray Gravel from every citizen.
