Holy Spirit Church of Alentilla (also known as Holy Spirit Church International outside Alentilla) is the religious organization in Alentilla and it was founded in 1918 by Francisco Ruiz.

History

Beginning

In 1918, Francisco Ruiz established his own religion because he opposed some of the teachings in the Roman Catholic church and he named it "Espiritu Santo". The first church was built in the same year in Sta. Ana St. (now Francisco Ruiz St.) and it was 326 members who worshipped at that time.

In 1919, Ruiz established other chapels in Alentilla City (barrios Carmen Costero and Carmen Oriental), Nievera, and Vizcaya and it was ordained by the first four bishops in the said places. At the same year, the members were increased into 1,129 members.
