Meteorite strikes the city of Kun Atla in 9867 EK.

Kun Atla impact event, Kun Atla catastrophe (ay. Κυν Ατλα ρηλ Kun Atla reil /kʉn 'ʔatɫa rejɫ/ "end of Kun Atla") - severe geological-astronomical natural disaster in early modern age of Kyon that took place in year 9867 EK, before the speculated dawn of industrial revolution. On day 9867.37 (or in Tangian dating system, on the 7th day of month Fo'onau) rock bolide measuring 620 metres and weighing 374 million tonnes entered Kyonian atmosphere, flew over islands of Akeira and Hiranea, and at a 44° angle struck the city of Kun Atla (Tangia, Western Kyon) with population of 1.6 million inhabitants with speed of 19.7 km/s, causing an explosion with TNT equivalent of 8.95 gigatonne. The fireball reached 8.08 kilometres. The impact completely obliterated the city and its neighbouring areas, caused tsunami that resulted in damage on Sekhtonian and Pinu areas, and blew 5.57 gigatonne of material up in the atmosphere with speeds over 83.34 m/s, causing post-impact winter for about an Earth's year (two and a half Kyonian years), causing problems with crops across the planet. Such scale impacts of meteorites statistically happen once every 191 841 years. Chance for such meteorite to struck a major city are statistically negligible, nevertheless, that is what happened in 9867 EK.

The event and its consequences are not well described yet. They are placed so far after the Kyon project's common year that, for February 2021, even CanisV, usually focused entirely on future, did not present the details, although the even was discussed on the forum (in the figurative sense of the word) of the creative community. The other players though are focused on the common year and on the past, and not a single project exists that would have events described after 8973 EK, which is why the idea of the Impact, although it certainly would influence all the other in project Kyon, remains neutral project-wise.

In Tangia itself, the even caused complete chaos. It is known that its effects were felt throughout the empire. A series of coincidences preceding the event led to a huge number of conspiracy, pseudoscientific and paranormal theories. Mayhem led to Tangian Civil War, led the empire into partial decay, and was a leap back in terms of civilisation development.

Equally severe consequences were most likely felt by Sekht. The meteorite struck from the west under a shallow angle and due to this, although main destruction involves the Kaori island, the material blown in the air almost certainly started falling onto entire Sekht. Nothing is known about later events in Sekhtonian history though, as its described history - for February 2021 - ends in year 9509 EK.
