The Labour Party is a centre-left political party in the British Republic and is the leading opposition party in parliament. The party is described as a broad church and a "parliamentary alliance" of social democrats, democratic socialists, liberals, progressives, and socialists as well as trade unionists outlooks and is been called the "flagship" of the British left. The party's platform advocates for the strengthening of workers' unions, greater right for workers, action against income inequality and the strengthening of a more equitable Britain. The party is currently lead by Marcus Hendrix and has helped the party gain popularity and has since then become the largest political party in Western Europe with over half a million members and counting according to 2017 studies and statistics.

The Labour Party was formed in 1898 in response to horrid working conditions and the negative effects of the Industrial Revolution which included crowded cities, homes lacking sanitation, and general disregard for British workers by their bosses, particularly in factories. The Labour Party was formed by Gordon Newman and he became a leading unionist and activist pushing for more workers rights in Britain. His efforts lead to nation-wide strikes and the creation of wages and other rights for unions. As a result, the Labour Party grew in popularity and was soon elected into parliament in the 1900 parliamentary elections. Labour quickly became the rival party to the older Conservative Party and would lead the majority of opposition governments against the Conservatives since the 1920s.

Since 2015, the Labour Party has been taken in a left-wing populist direction under the leadership of Marcus Hendrix and has since then shifted further left. Labour's embracement of democratic socialist and social democratic principals and policies have helped the party boost in popularity and their upset in the 2017 general election further solidified the direction and has remained the current shift in Labour politics since Hendrix firs took over and has gained a strong and dedicated following from working class and lower class citizens of the British Republic.
