Lagashi Yonashin
Lagashi Yonashin (八神隆史 Yonashin Lagashi, born Feb 28, 1949 in Tamayaka, Suyu, Surea) is the current Prime Minister of Surea. He is the 30th individual to hold the post. He was a professor of Surea National University from 1980 to 2008, until he was designated to the Prime Minister, serving as the president of the university from August 2004 to February 2008.
Academic career
Dr. Yonashin began his academic career as a Business Associate and Assistant Professor at Waseda University from 1976 to 1980. After four years of teaching Economics and Financial Markets at the University, Dr. Yonashin returned to Surea National University in late 1980, where he has taught for 18 years on the Faculty of Business and Economics. Prior to his appointment as SNU President, Dr. Yonashin was Vice President of General Affairs. From 1990 to 1997, he was the Dean at the Faculty of Business and Economics. Dr. Yonashin was a visiting associate professor at the University of Nottingham in 1986 and a Visiting Professor at London School of Economics in 2003. Dr. Yonashin earned a B.A. in Economics from Suyu City University in 1970, and an M.A. in Economics from University of Surea in 1972. In 1976, Dr. Yonashin was awarded a Ph.D. in Economics at Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Yonashin continues to write and conduct research in macroeconomics and financial markets. He has numerous publications in both Surean and English.
