Lembod is the capital of Kutuf province in eastern Ardenjost.
History
Triumphing in last centuries because of industry, Lembod surpassed former capital of Kutuf, Kutuddif, in population in 1933. After northern parts of Basmer province were added into Kutuf in 1966, Lembod became definitely the central place in the province, becoming the capital in 1970.
Formerly Stapaktot River, emptying Lake Sytajarp west of Lembod into Gutuftot River, flowed through the center of the city. This changed in 1949, when the course of the river was altered southward. Since then, there has been an hydroelectric plant in the southern part of the municipality, generating a power of 70 MW.
